IGN's layoffs were allegedly chosen before its union's recognition, but the union argues this was done without consultation.

Well their site is dogshit too. I opened it up this morning searching for an answer on a game I was playing, and literally the entire screen was taken up by three separate ads, with one line of text visible. Fuck their site.

What fucking pathetic excuse for a union doesn’t immediately negotiate a collective contract with prerequisites for termination and mandatory reporting of layoffs?

By what definition is this even a union if they don’t take management to task and actually, ya know, strike instead of bitching online?

Frankly if this is what passes for a union in the US I am not surprised nobody fucking unionizes.

3 unionized journalists get laid off from IGN… Games Journalism now: KNOW THEIR NAMES.

Well… yeah. Thats kinda the point of unions. So companies dont treat people as disposable.

Wish more games studios were unionized, then.

Wish everyone was unionized. Except cops, I wish their union was destroyed and made by better, less terrible people.

Names of people being laid have been shared and many stories made public, what the fuck are you talking about?

The shift in tone, not the names.

There is no shift in tone. You’re complaining about something that you’re projecting.
