Edit: this is usually where you want to look at that question https://tests.reproducible-builds.org/archlinux/archlinux.html

Why is it not stated which research paper? By whom? It’s just a reproduction of what they do which is good but the guy reporting about it acts like it’s breaking news.

They’ve got problems in their tests though. There are 5 packages in core that are “unreproducible” and one is the kernel. Pretty significant package, except it fails because of a timeout.

Why would linux and linux-lts fail but not inux-zen?

linux-zen does fail, it’s just not in Core, but in Extra.

Not sure why you would need a research paper to figure this out when https://reproducible.archlinux.org/ exists…

How does that page help anyone increase their number of published research papers?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word “Linux” in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
