I paid for a lifetime purchase of Ultra back in April 2023 after Sync for Lemmy was released. Now suddenly Sync started showing me ads yesterday and asking if I want to buy Ultra. I have tried “Restore purchases” but it doesn’t find anything. Has anyone else seen this or have any tricks to get it to remember I already paid?

I think you’re looking at your Sync for Reddit purchase there. Sync for Lemmy was released August 2.
Damn you’re right, this purchase is too early to be for the new Sync!
This leaves me questioning my memory in a big way. I remember being grumpy that I had to pay again to switch to Sync for Lemmy, but I don’t see the purchase on Google Play. And I definitely have not been seeing ads for the 8 months I’ve been using the new app.
Was there some other way to pay to get rid of ads when the app first came out? Sorry I’m just thinking aloud here.
This is 100% Sync for Reddit. The icon says “Pro” and there is no pro version of Sync for Lemmy.

Yeah the ads are garbage. I might end up dumping Sync just to avoid it tbh.
Google play services often do this when you have multiple google accounts in your phone. The most surefire way to fix it is to reinstall from the same google account that purchase the subscription.
Edit: wait a minute, I’m pretty sure sync for lemmy was released on August. Sync for Reddit purchase doesn’t carry over to Sync for Lemmy.
Was that maybe for Sync for Reddit?
