I went to a firefighter’s wedding a year or two ago. There was part where we all took a bus from the venue to the reception. One of them started a “fuck Joe Biden” chant on the bus.

    Thoughts and prayers assholes.

I know a firefighter who is a captain in California of a station, he’s the biggest hardcore trump fanatic and incredibly racist. Have the day you deserve, my dude!

I make it my secondary goals when hanging around the station (am firefighter) to chime in and knock down any pro trump (heck pro state) rhetoric pretty quickly. It’s worked on a few so far.

I really appreciate you. It’s really hard in a professional setting to speak up against your colleagues. Thank you for your courage to stand your ground and call out hatred when you see it.

Interestingly this is how it started out here. You bought fire insurance and were protected by a fire company. I want to say it was one of Franklin’s things that established the first public fire company in Philadelphia, but this is a forum so if I’m wrong I know I’ll be corrected!

We still have a lot of groups, at least in the northeast, that refer to themselves as companies, though it’s used more like an army company or battalion and less like a for-profit endeavor.
