  • Sure. And you’re entitled to yours. But words have meaning and this isn’t MY OPINION, it’s objective reality. It follows strict rules for predictable output, it is not nonsensical.

You’re entitled to think it’s nonsense, and you’d be wrong. You don’t have to like implicit type coercion, but it’s popular and in many languages for good reason…

    Language Implicit Coercion Example
    JavaScript '5' - 1 → 4
    PHP '5' + 1 → 6
    Perl '5' + 1 → 6
    Bash $(( '5' + 1 )) → 6
    Lua "5" + 1 → 6
    R "5" + 1 → 6
    MATLAB '5' + 1 → 54 (ASCII math)
    SQL (MySQL) '5' + 1 → 6
    Visual Basic '5' + 1 → 6
    TypeScript '5' - 1 → 4
    Tcl "5" + 1 → 6
    Awk '5' + 1 → 6
    PowerShell '5' + 1 → 6
    ColdFusion '5' + 1 → 6
    VBScript '5' + 1 → 6
    ActionScript '5' - 1 → 4
    Objective-J '5' - 1 → 4
    Excel Formula "5" + 1 → 6
    PostScript (5) 1 add6

I think JavaScript is filthy, I’m at home with C#, but I understand and don’t fear ITC.

It’s not nonsensical, implicit type coercion is a feature of JavaScript, it’s perfectly logical and predictable.

JavaScript is a filthy beast, it’s not the right tool for every job, but it’s not nonsensical.

When you follow a string with a +, it concatenates it with the next value (converted to string if needed). This makes sense, and it’s a very standard convention in most languages.

Applying arithmetic to a string would be nonsensical, which they don’t do.

Yes, yes, you named the benefits and convenience of a centralized system.

Federalized systems require individual federated maintenance, and that comes with some challenges, but maybe it’s not the worst thing in the world if the random videos you uploaded to youtube that never get any views eventually disappeared… Maybe the planet shouldn’t bear the burnt of indefinitely holding those videos in replicated backed up storage forever. Maybe that’s not valuable data we need for future civilizations.

What if a valuable creator dies and noone is there to run their instance? These are important things to consider and think through so we can solve them. Maybe the answer is a community driven peer node replication?

These aren’t unsolvable hurdles, they’ve been solved already.

  • Thank you for the insult.

Bernie Sanders and all liberal Zionists swing around their bullshit support for a “two state solution” or a “homeland for Palestinians” as secondary to ensuring “the Jews” (conflating Zionism with Judaism is antisemitism) maintain their “safety and security” on illegally stolen Palestinian land.

They’ll keep talking about supporting us so morons like you can insist that we do in fact have support, as our land is shrunk, our kids are slaughtered and the future of our people and culture are clear as day: running out of time.

Bernie is a Jewish supremacist like all Zionists, there is no other reason to keep repeating the same bullshit lines that demand from all US government stooges, there’s no reason Bernie keeps repeating that “Israel has the right to defend itself.”

No. It doesn’t. Israel is a state committing genocide against children it keeps in a concentration camp after ethnically cleansing their parents and stealing their land. It doesn’t have the right to defend itself, and only Nazis insist it does years into a Holocaust of children.

  • I’d like to see the United States pressing Israel more on the Palestinian issue

Ohhh thanks Bernie, you’re so progressive! You’re almost as pro Palestinian as Ethan Klein!

Kibbutz Bernie is a liberal Zionist. He thinks being Jewish grants you a special right to steal and live in Palestinian land while they suffer as stateless refugees spread out around the world and labeled terrorists for resisting. He just has a problem with slaughtering them in the open, but living on and benefiting from their ethnically cleansed land is perfectly A-OK.

From the river to the mother fucking sea, Palestine must be free! Jewish Nazis are not somehow better than Christian Nazis.

  • mods have been deleting my comments that remind people that Biden and the Democrats gleefully committed genocide and lost the election for their refusal to even suggest they’ll stop it.

When will people wake up and realize the Democrats are not on our side, not the lesser evil? They exist to give us an illusion that someone is fighting on our behalf, they exist to pacify us, they exist to allow capitalism to turn us into wage-slaves.

They’ll take a knee with us, they’ll give record breaking speeches, they’ll march with us in the peaceful phases, they’ll be on the front line even. They’ll hold rallies and raise incredible amounts to “flight fascism”, and then they’ll step in line and vote to keep the wheel turning RIGHT.

  • Manufacturing consent depends on presenting “worthy victims”. The distinction between American citizen or not is used to argue that citizens have nothing to worry about.

“You didn’t break any laws, you didn’t come here illegally, don’t worry this will never happen to you, as long as you stay in line and don’t make any sudden moves, we’ll do our job and get rid of the criminals”

So while it’s important to not pay into that, it’s important to highlight that it’s just as cruel to deport an a child undergoing cancer treatment because they are here illegally, it’s also super important to remind our fellow citizens who still haven’t fully opened their eyes: they’re doing it to citizens too, and this can in fact happen to you.

They won’t join us for the moral reason, but if they help us fight to save their own skin that’s better than being blind.
