So far, it’s not enjoyable on the Steam Deck for me. In outdoor areas and the dialogue screen, I’m getting ~25fps with completely ugly borked graphics settings. With medium settings, it looks graphically better but is hovering at around ~17fps.
Not nearly a smooth enough experience for me to want to play it on the Deck right now. I’ve played about with the graphics settings a lot but had no luck.
I hate everything about this stupid propaganda/publicity stunt.
I have more in common with the guy on the left but I love and support the people on the right

Anything they churn out could never match the steam deck because of the software limitations.
The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. I just can’t get into them at all. I’ve tried half a dozen times and just got bored after a few hours of gameplay time.
I’ve accepted that I just don’t like them. Games should be fun, not feel like a chore to play.

I’m a Linux noob so I put Mint on my PC. I like it a lot, very smooth and clean looking.
Might sound kind of stupid, but one thing I’d personally love for the steam deck would be the ability to detach the display from the controls on each side like the Nintendo switch so I could use it like a small tablet in portrait mode. You can already do that, but it’s awkward and bulky.
I’d actually use it for browsing the web on desktop mode and I could probably get rid of my android tablet.
On Tuesday I had a panic attack when I got in to work at 9am. It didn’t last long, only about 15-20 minutes, but I still don’t feel quite right even now. That’s usually the case with my panic attacks, it takes a while for me to reset afterwards. Sometimes weeks.
Right now I have this tense feeling in my head, which causes my jaw to tighten up and get an impulsive twitch. Usually seems to happen when I’m feeling anxiety. I have an urge to chew on something soft.
I used tasker to display an icon on my status bar to tell me whether auto rotate is enabled or not. I kept lying down on my side forgetting that I had auto rotate on and my display would rotate when I didn’t want it to.
It’s an incredibly specific and minor thing that was annoying me, but tasker let me fix it. It’s a great tool, but can be complicated if you aren’t familiar with scripting. Luckily it’s got some presets and a “basic” mode.
My neighbours wife loves my deck. She says it’s the biggest deck she’s ever seen.
I’ve done some more testing since my initial comment, and my experience is pretty much exactly as that article describes. Better than I had it before.
Overall it’s okay, but probably best experienced on a PC. Nice to have it nonetheless, and maybe it will get some updates to make it perform better!
