Notable that Epic Games takes only a 12% cut, and 0% of the first $1 million in sales (effectively 0% for the vast majority of indie games). A cynical take is that they’re just doing this to attract developers to their store, which is almost certainly true, but it doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll take a higher cut if they become dominant. Unfortunately the Epic Games platform is missing the majority of extra features that Steam has (built in streaming, family share, input binding, big picture mode, etc)

Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, is about 80% as wealthy as Gabe Newell, and has done much more philanthropy, although it only represents probably less than one percent of his net worth.

That’s two data points influenced by countless other factors. Like the economy, which I mentioned.

These people just know that things aren’t great, they don’t know whose fault it was or what policies caused it. So they vote for the person who says they’ll change the most.

The largest deciding factor stated by people after voting was the economy. People remembered that there was a lot of inflation under Biden, and didn’t want to keep similar policies. Of course, we know that Trump’s first term had a pretty large influence on the state of the economy under Biden, and Biden’s policies probably didn’t hurt the economy. But the average voter is not that informed.

No one cares about qualifications. They care about vibes and what their friends think.

Ok, just read the artlce cited on wikipedia and it sounds like calling him a Trump supporter is a bit of an exaggeration. He seems basically centrist. Which is not great but not nearly as bad.

I thought it was funny how Trump was just nodding along while Harris was saying that people often leave his rallies due to boredom. Also, him basically outright saying that immigration has never happened in the history of the country, along with the other nonsensical things he’s said.

I actually had a problem where on Chrome, I would be signed out of my google account every time I restart my computer, while on Firefox, everything works normally. I use Firefox now lol.
