it literally happened to me but ok
I did a quick install of windows (last year I think?) and it sorted everything into a onedrive folder. documents, pictures, videos, downloads, all that stuff, looked normal from the file explorer, but was sneakily placed into a onedrive folder. it went something like c:/users/me/onedrive/. didn’t realize what it had done until like 2 days later and it gave me some popup about not being able to upload. i don’t even have a onedrive account; it just decided that was how it should be done. no idea what, if anything, it actually uploaded.
now if i have to install windows i have a script from privacy.sexy i run before doing anything else. havent had that happen again yet. still, probably best to assume anything on a windows machine is not private.
I’m just surprised it seems to actually be in c/users instead of a OneDrive folder
Yeah ceramic makes me crazy. I had two old ceramic plates I took from my parent’s house more than 5 years ago and have been regularly using them to reheat leftovers ever since.
Last week, one of them shattered during the reheat. Same temp as always (300F), nothing special about the food I put on it (rice, so that was extra fun to clean up), it just decided 5 years in was the time to give up the ghost. Fuckin peesa shit.
I could be wrong but as far as I remember the computer guy in Dredd (2012) was using Linux and had openssh running in the terminal
Ooh perfect, now I can get crumbs all over my keyboard and say it’s part of the aesthetic, mom
Are you misreading “preparing” as literally any writing?Even that Wikipedia article goes into fair use. Let’s plays are potential infringement because people make money from them. There’s stuff like that one Switch emulator that got taken down a while back because it had a direct effect on Nintendo’s ability to sell hardware. But there’s also stuff like PokeMMO which has been allowed to persist because they don’t actually distribute any Nintendo code and Nintendo isn’t selling those games anymore.
What effect on the market can there be for a fan remaster of a 20 year old game that isn’t for sale anymore? Hard to argue that doesn’t fall under fair use.
For sure they might try to send a c&d, but it wouldn’t have any legal standing. Whether you have the funds to fight frivolous bullshit like that is one thing, but you can’t get a c&d in the first place if you never put your art out. Even then, all you’d have to do is stop distributing it yourself, but at least it’d be out there
Why would it be a problem unless he was making money? People are allowed to write fanfic and make fan movies and whatnot. The line isn’t crossed until money changes hands. Seems like a fan game would fall under that same kind of category
Unless they were trying to charge people for it, I’m pretty sure there would have been nothing stopping a release

I seriously doubt going to the center wins any votes in the general. The type of people who think conservative policy is good for society are gonna vote Republican no matter how stupid and fascist it is. “Shifting right wins over never Trumpers” is a line that works on people during the primary when everyone is on the left anyway, but in the end it’s an excuse to more deeply entrench the oligarchy and it turns off people who need something to be excited about in order to bother coming out for the general. Like, I can’t imagine young voters were happy to hear Harris at the debate talking about how she’s going to expand oil drilling.
Biden won because leftists were energized about getting Trump out of office, not because centrism won over conservatives. In fact, I think the centrism is why he was projected to lose this year! His presidency went fine considering the senate, but fact is he didn’t do a whole lot to get people interested. Gaffes and age notwithstanding, even a perfect public speaker wouldn’t have had much to work with. That’s why the switch to Harris got the poll numbers moving: it was a big move that got people engaged. But I firmly believe every move she makes to the center is doing more to turn off leftist voters than it is wresting people from the right.
I don’t remember anyone saying 10 was worse than 8. Maybe buggier on launch, but stylistically it worked more like 7 than 8 did
Changing amendments is no problem when you have judges to “reinterpret” them at will
About as often as they actually release anything
I wouldn’t get too excited. Supposedly the next headset is internally called Deckard, and it’s been “about to release” for like 3 years now? Pretty much everything people think they know about it is conjecture based off code Valve has tucked away in SteamVR; zero public statements of intent.
As for VR on Linux… kinda? I’ve only read terrible things about it online. I have an Index and tried to use it with Mint a few months back, and while it mostly worked without any configuration issues, there was a weird white ring around the edge of the screen that I couldn’t figure out.
They literally already tried and failed with the phoneification of windows when everyone shat on 8. I guess some ahole UI designer still works there and is bitter that people didn’t like their ideas.
Just 3 days ago I had to use the control panel to access the settings I needed to get my parents’ printer to work right. Even tried to use the regular settings menu for maybe 10 minutes before remembering how to access the settings I needed. Here’s hoping my parents never run into printer issues again (lol).
FUCK YOU, MICROSOFT!
