It’s a shame because my 11yo laptop runs beautifully on X11 but terribly on Wayland with KDE. I hope the issues with Wayland optimization work out on my laptop before I’m forced to switch

I, too, place 2> /dev/null

Is iRobot worth watching?
That, detective, is the right question.
I quit Sync months ago, I’ve been using Voyager and I love it. It actually has better functionality than Sync and somehow it manages to stay within 12 months of being up to date with the rest of the Fediverse.
Frankly LJD burned any good will and I don’t plan on ever returning. Save your money and time and go with a FOSS alternative.
Absolutely agree, the wholeapt-get upgrade
(or however, I always messed it up!) was annoying to me, and I switched to an arch distro (Endeavour) and I’m super happy with it. It’s my only machine and it is awesome
Coulda thrown a couple ls -la
s around and he woulda been golden
Endeavour has been an amazing distro for me, noob Linuxer. I started on Ubuntu Cinnamon, then tried Mint, and ended here on Endeavour and I love it.
People who complain about the fact that “emails” is an incorrect plural form, even if it’s incredibly common and accepted, and sometimes language evolves and changes, should be sure that they write it ‘E-mail’, and also don’t forget to capitalize Internet!

Yeah and Nate Silver was calling a landslide Clinton victory, too. It’s just another talking head.
What kind of things would we be gaining efficency for? Markdown? It seems graphically to be a very spartan program. If I’m only writing text, what value would I gain from learning vim versus a graphical text editor that incorporates markdown and page design?
To add to your line of query, what if I don’t give a shit about writing code and I just use Linux as a casual laptop user? I’ve never looked at vim or emacs, I use Kate and OnlyOffice
Borderline with My Atoms, Hiatus Kaiyote
I use EndeavourOS, and I love the way the system runs, I enjoy pacman and AUR, but I also get annoyed having to do the sudo pacman -Syu
dance every couple of days. I want an Arch-like distro that is stable. Does such a thing exist?
The app my work uses to show 401k, pay, request leave, etc details, uses a ridiculous webapp that’s very slow, and on top of this, they nag you literally every 4 months to update your password. I used to be a good boy and memorize a new password each time. Now I just add a new letter into BitWarden and it’s my new password. Apparently this is more secure??
Thanks for the correction! Been about the same amount of time for me lol
Nice, Five Million Merits mixed with dystopia environmentalist catastrophe, I love it
The next *large and extremely young generation
Different commands on different interfaces. On windows it used to be CTRL but on Linux I’ve found it’s ALT more now
I once had an LLM write my son a birthday card as if I were an international fugitive escaping from the three-letter agencies, it was pretty fun
