6·2 years agoWhen you said 20 years later I genuinely thought you meant like early 90s
On a related note my Brother 2270DW has been working flawlessly since 2012. It survived two moves just fine. Toners are cheap and widely available
I have it hooked up to my wifi and any new pc or mac connected to the wifi can print effortlessly
So why don’t they split YouTube and YouTube music subs? It can save people like us money

Technology@lemmy.world•YouTube cracking on ad blockers.English
281·2 years agoI want ad free YouTube but don’t want YouTube music. I don’t want to pay for extra shit that I won’t be using.
I use Spotify way more than I use YouTube. Spotify does one thing and it does it extremely well.
If Spotify added unlimited free Uber eats delivery tomorrow and bumped up the price to $20 a month, then sure, it’d be a good deal but I wouldn’t want any of that.

31·2 years agoAs have I, and my experience is similar to the other guy.
Fingerprint on the 6 drove me nuts.
On 7 pro now. My tap to pay goes away randomly sometimes until I restart the phone. 7pro camera is hit and miss, mostly missed. Takes very detailed photos, but the quality is far worse than pixels older than pixel 6.
My HL2270DW has been working flawlessly for nearly 10 years now.
Connects to any PC/mac on my home network. Always prints correctly. Toners are dirt cheap
Is OP using a 1998 cannon printer or something?

Good on EU to force their hand, we should be cheering for regulatory agencies making life better for consumers.
I have tried all of the ones on Android.
Wefwef / Voyager is extremely impressive for what it is - webapp
However it and all of the other android apps glitch a lot. I’m on a pixel 7 pro so it’s not a legacy hardware issue either
Sync is by far the best app by a large margin. Everything has a high degree of polish. UX design is perfect, though I may be biased since I’ve been using it for reddit for the past decade.
Sync only has ads on the post pages, may be once every 10-15 posts. No ads on the comment page. Honestly it’s got the little Google ads that are not a big deal at all
If you’d like you can remove ads for $30 but honestly it’s not a big enough issue at all

Sync for Lemmy@lemmy.world•The type of ads are really frustratingEnglish
5·2 years agoHonestly I rarely see ads on the app. I mostly get temu ads.
Go to most news sites and they’re bombarded with shitty ads taking up 80% of the screen space
On sync I may be see 1 small ad per 10-15 posts, tops.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Android users, What's stopping you from switching to iPhone?
3·2 years agoBack gesture / design
Whatsapp portability. Last time I checked Whatsapp data couldn’t be moved to Android. I have a decade of chat history id like to preserve.
Integration with Google Photos. I am not switching to icloud or any other. Google Photos is just way too good. I can even search photos with text!
Notification system. I’m not entirely happy with how android does it, but apple does it worse.
Charging port. All my cables are USB C that charge both my phone and iPad. I’m not thrilled about getting 3 more chargers and cables.
App prices. Android has great KeePass clients for cheap / free. I use strongbox on my iPad which is like $30 a year

You need more meaningful things going on in your life.
