Hi!
The creeper paradox: the harder you try not to be, the more you appear to be.
I replied to OP but I also need to say that I have definitely been the bully before. Very very inept coworker that after months of mentoring started to blame me for their short comings. So, after that, I stopped being so nice. There was only so much bullshit I could handle.
So at the time, it felt justified? But looking back I wish my response was to just ignore them.
The last time I was bullied, was by my own boss, back in 2007-2009. Truth is I didn’t deal with it, and eventually they fired me. Next job basically taught me that it was possible to enjoy your boss & coworkers.
If you’re going through it now, best advice is to find people to talk to. Partner at home, work friends, anyone you trust. If it’s to the point of harassment, you tell management. If they blow you off, look for employment elsewhere.
they were military… right? or mercs, etc
I bet it’s also common/planned that they would just reopen another one somewhere else. Esp if it closed for bankruptcy, etc.
I know exactly what you mean with Adam. I do like him, and his content, but wow yeah his “brand” of engagement can be exhausting.
and the other 99 million?
Thanks! Fortunately (unfortunately?) I’m all Windows atm. Other than my pihole and photoframe.
oh I wouldn’t say I’m “adamant” - but to answer your question I was looking to unGoogle my Google Drive and GMail, and Proton popped up pretty quick for having both. I’m currently paying for Private Internet Access VPN, but once that expires I could also get a 3rd function out of Proton with their VPN. I also want my new mail service to allow custom domains, which Proton also does.
I’m a windows user, but I did play around when I built my media PC. Mint had problems right away with monitor drivers (AMD iGPU) and connecting to the home network (all SMB windows drives).
Before giving up, I tried Ubuntu, and with Ubuntu i DID experience the “it just works” and no problems getting everything running. That said, I still eventually went to windows, because I just dont have the free time to learn/adjust to another environment. But I did really like it. (Ubuntu)
Me too! Pretty close to moving to proton though. Might wait for Black Friday rates.
it blows my mind that russian tourists would still be casually taking vacations to a warzone? I mean I DO understand how their perception of the “conflict” is different than reality, but to GO into disputed areas that have absolutely seen action in the last year.
Completely agree!
Sam’s club. $60 or so for prescription glasses.
we can make so many things from fermentation now, its unreal. We can ferment plastics now.
I’ll admit, BACK THEN, I thought it was funny and was sad E was taken. But yeah perspective changes when you realize how much worse he is/was/will be.
“away from China” according to the article. That’s what I wanted to know, so saving other’s clicks.
Hit ctrl-shift-esc to quick open tasks/performance. Are apps using a total of 8 gb? What are you running?
Yeah I want to know too. What effect does it actually have?
