People are farting. They just know how to do it without making noise most of the time.

11·2 years agoThis is really hard to read because the writer just sprinkles in random swear words into every sentence. I get that that is the point, hence the name of the site, but still. I’m not saying swears are bad or something but this is just really overdone. Just tone it down a bit. A swear is fine every few sentences but this is like one or two “fucking” per sentence, even where it doesn’t fit.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•What is general practice for installing games from outside Steam?
12·2 years agoI would recommend using bottles as the last fallback instead of just wine. Makes it easier since it automatically creates a wine prefix for each game/launcher

12·2 years agoThat’s so whack. In that case my “platform of the year 2023” is the gameboy
That’s worse. You see how that is worse right?
It’s nice to appreciate people who do good things, but keep in mind that the only way people become billionaires is by exploiting people. So I would not want any of these people to be billionaires because it would mean they got that wealth not by doing good things, but by owning ridiculous amounts of capital and exploiting people.
Rant over, sorry.

Technology@lemmy.world•How many of you actually use the headphone jack on your phone?English
251·2 years agoI see a lot of people saying the use it every day, probably since this type of post attracts those types of people. So I will break the mold and say that I never use it.
I haven’t had a headphone jack in my last 2 phones and I haven’t missed it at all. Maybe once or twice in the last few years when I have gotten into my mom’s car which doesn’t have Bluetooth. All my headphones are Bluetooth. All my speakers are Bluetooth. If I really need a headphone jack I can still use a dongle but that almost never happens.

Linux@lemmy.ml•What are you most excited when it comes to linux in 2024?
5·2 years agoThat’s what the “verified for deck” is for in steam. In my experience every game works that fulfills these criteria:
A. Is not one of a few competitive multiplayer games that have decided to not allow Linux players to play. Among these are Destiny 2 and PUBG for example.
B. Does not require mouse and keyboard (and even then the touchpads and steam input sometimes makes it work anyways)
C. Is not VR (for obvious reasons)
If you are unsure you can also check protondb which someone else linked.
Jag brukar använda de lokala apparna för var man åker från. Exempelvis Skånetrafiken, Hallandstrafiken, Jönköpings Länstrafik. Då kan man ju se förväntad ankomst för tåget man har köpt biljett till.
