The app has a very small user base of approximately a hundred people worldwide and I know almost all of them one by one, but I’ve never heard of you. I’m glad to meet you, even in these unfortunate circumstances.

By the way I am considering closing the project, because I am being personally damaged by what is happening now, and my reputation as a professional has been compromised.

Don’t worry @squirrel@discuss.tchncs.de you have been one of the ones who helped the most and I am glad we had the opportunity to collaborate. I don’t appreciate the original poster though, because it only gave general hints of what has been tested but no evidence about the tests. I know that some features (like subscripts, superscripts, strikethrough, tables, footnotes) are not supported BUT the perfect Markdown rendering has never been a priority for me.

We were working on this but it’s a hard task and Compose Multiplatform is still not mature as a technology, there are few libraries and those which exist do not work well.

Help would be welcome, otherwise people can use Jerboa or Voyager, nobody is forcing anybody to use any app (especially if they are FOSS).

Seeing that image has always made me enter a “brain short-circuit” mode where half of my personality wants to cry and the other half wants to laugh. Does anyone experience anything similar?

I agree in that Summit is the most feature complete and polished Lemmy client for Android.

Personally, I would be in favor of having polls because I frequently involve people in taking decisions.

But my use case is quite peculiar because (1) I need to know people’s opinion to take actions based on it, they would not be just informative polls (2) this group of people use Lemmy as their main interaction medium, no other platform is involved.

I’ve resorted to strawpoll in the past or in having comments with multiple options and relying on the most upvoted comment but these solutions have downsides.

Needless to say, in neither case the discussion originated from a technical issue, both times we were arguing online about politics.

Once I was told that I deserved to be fired and, another time, I was told that I am unable to think properly so I shouldn’t work as a software developer.

Both remarks were quite painful because they were not questioning my ideas/opinions but my professional abilities. I confess that in my “down” moments those thoughts tend to pop up even years later.

If the back end provided support for multi-communities it would work cross-app in the same way… unfortunately it looks like this is not a priority for the time being.

Not all mobile apps allow it because it’s a little tricky with the Lemmy APIs.

• Liftoff used to have thia feature but it’s discontinued;
• Summit has added this feature, you can access it by “Community info” -> “Instance info” -> “Communities” when you are on a community on the instance you want to explore;
• RaccoonForLemmy has it in the “Instance info” sheet tapping the “⋮” button in the top bar when you are on a community of the instance you want to explore;
• I couldn’t find anything similar in Jerboa, Voyager, Thunder and Eternity, don’t know about the other ones.

That’s a known bug which has been partially solved in the latest development build, have a look here. There were issues with markdown rendering when there were both text and images.
