Funnily enough, calculator is one of the few proprietary apps I’ve paid for and still happily lose. Wolfram alpha just does many things that other calculators don’t.

That sucks, didnt know charging by the minute was still a thing at all in some places.
Anyone who uses Facebook messenger as their only messenging app will need to text or call me. Fuck that. I do, however, use WhatsApp and discord for work and uni group chats. If or when that’s no longer the case, people who only use those will need to text me, too.
You could literally just save a copy to your desktop before you’re going to do something sensitive.
We’re almost like coding siblings lol
Unrelated, but if she’s ever interested in sharing, I’d be interested in hearing what it was like to be a female dev in the 80s! It’s tough enough today.
You don’t need to know what they consider active, just give them a toggle so they can decide.
Nice, thanks for the tip! Also thanks for going through the trouble of finding out for me, I appreciate it! I’m unfortunately in one of the regions where it’s specifically not available. But the second phone thing might be an option. That, or just a compatibility layer with regular old android after all.
Thanks for the input, i realise it’s been a while since I checked this! ÖBB Scotty, ÖBB Tickets (could forgo this one) and SBB mobile. I also need Digitales Amt (official government app for things like signing contracts without printing them, ordering your election materials to a different address than usual, checking your medical info etc). Do you happen to know whether that would work?
Huh TIL, thanks! So would apps usually work, just like on regular android? Except the aforementioned, of course.
I haven’t switched my phone yet, but will do so soon. Does anyone have experience with compatibility layers on phone, akin to wine? I unfortunately cannot go without my public transport apps, and they’re android or IOS only. I’ve looking into postmarket OS, but open for suggestions.
You keep saying ‘clarifying what she meant’ everywhere. I just don’t get where you get that that’s what she meant. She just said she sees a bias against pro-Palestinian protesters. That’s not implying the bias has anything to do with Judaism at all.
There’s many such nickname based on trumps fake tan. We can’t really claim superiority on the nickname thing. It IS funny though.
My mum at least asked ‘do you learn about this stuff in school?’, to which i awkwardly said yeah. We did get some pretty good classes on bodies, the biology of reproduction, and contraception. I even remember having a test on contraceptives in biology class.
Unfortunately, it was very cis-het only. I had to figure out by myself that I should be using protection during sex even if both participants had a vulva.
As for drugs, it never occurred to my mum that anything other than alcohol and nicotine could be relevant to us. She did well on keeping me from smoking just by telling me about her experience as a smoker and how hard it was to quit. I kept my drinking and weed smoking from her pretty well because even a mention would make her angry. To be fair, as an adult I understand she had some trauma from her mum being an alcoholic.
I’m not even in tech. I teach maths at night school to support myself while doing my masters. Somehow I’ve become the ‘computer guy’ at my job. All the teachers and even office staff ask me to explain software to them that I myself have never even used. I need to learn to say no.
To add: drink water throughout the day in general. Especially where tap water is safe to drink. You’re going to pass up the opportunity to improve your health and daily wellbeing, easily and for free? WHY?
Random side note. I actually prefer room temperature water. Sensitive teeth. And i try to keep my backpack as light, so it’s a one layer water bottle for me.
Tbh my uni gave me a PC with no OS on it. I wasn’t going to pay for an OS for work so I installed Ubuntu. I liked it, so I also switched on my private laptop.
TLDR: it being free, then liking it
It is indeed normal to use ‘du’ pretty much everywhere on the internet. Even in French i never see ‘vous’ (which to me feels more common than Sie in German usually).
I get irritated to an irrationally high degree when someone literally only reads the headline and decides right then what their opinion is and that it needs to be shared with the world. Like they wouldn’t even have had to check out the link, it’s right in the post.
The psychologist who did like a shortened test on me actually recommended against going further and also getting diagnosed by a psychiatrist if I don’t want any official support. Just not worth a lifetime of discrimination within the medical system. I’m noticing it happening with my ADHD diagnosis. That one’s worth the discrimination though, since the treatment is a life saver (potentially literally).
