That’s never stopped them before.

I’ve occasionally seen it activate itself on computers with only a local account, though I’ve so far only seen it when upgrading in place to 11 with secure boot enabled in the BIOS, and not every time. Fortunately the one time it locked me out was on a freshly cloned drive, so it only cost me redoing the work.
Also, the number of people who I’ve seen lose all their data because they don’t even know they created an MS account during OOBE, and later had a boot or BIOS hiccup, is too damn high!
I assume the term is referring to the person knowing only the vibes of the program they want to code rather than comprehending the details of what it needs to do.
My brother ate an 8 years expired Twinky we found when we were in boy scouts. We were cleaning out the troop’s chuck wagon (food and cooking trailer). Something got lost at the back of a deeper storage compartment, and being the little skinny kid, I volunteered to climb in to find it. I noticed the Twinky slipped into a crack and read the date with amazement. The thing was over half as old as I was, and must have been sitting in that trailer, outdoors, for at least most of that time! After pardeing it around demanding everyone “behold the ancient Twinky” someone dared me to eat it. I never liked Twinkies, but as I’d already confirmed it was still sealed, and my brother was hungry, he didn’t hesitate to claim that dare. We all watched in suspense for his reaction, and were disappointed when he just shrugged and said that it tasted a little dry, but otherwise no different than normal.
have a sniff
I just always do that instead of looking at dates on food. If it looks off, smells off, or tastes off I trash it (always checking in that order, of course). Seems fine, I eat it. Never had a problem doing that.
Well, never a food bourn illness problem. I had a big argument with a housemate about expired food. Shortly after she moved in, she promptly trashed any food that was any amount past expiration, and proudly informed me that she had cleaned out the fridge, saving me from eating pickles that were a whole 3 months past safe to eat. To be fair to her, half the things she trashed actually were bad, but the pickle jar went right back in the fridge. If you don’t want me eating pickles that have been in the trash, Amanda, then don’t throw out my perfectly good pickles! Good call on the bottle of ranch dressing though, I forgot that was in there and it looks nasty.
That looks interesting. When I get through my current Factorio relapse, I’ll have to give it a try.
Yes, hallucination is the now standard term for this, but it’s a complete misnomer. A hallucination is when something that does not actually exist is perceived as if it were real. LLMs do not perceive, and therefor can’t hallucinate. I know, the word is stuck now and fighting against it is like trying to bail out the tide, but it really annoys me and I refuse to use it. The phenomenon would better be described as a confabulation.
I’ll just repeat someone else’s idea I saw elsewhere on Lemmy. She and Walz should challenge Trump and Vance to a marksmanship contest down at the gun range. He’d never go for it, but the image is hilarious. Admittedly, it would loose Harris some support from her base, but it would lose Trump a lot more from his to see him being shown up in such a visible way on one of his base’s favorite topics. Harris has stated that she is a gun owner, and you know she’s the type to take safety and skill training before she ever bought one, while on the other hand, if pansy-ass Trump has ever handled a live firearm in his life I will eat my hat. Both VP candidates have military training, but I’d still expect a pretty big skill gap between a decorated career infantry NCO and a newspaper staffer in a uniform.
Grandma Lucy’s organic dog treats are made to be fully human and dog safe and I find them just as tasty as the dog does. They’re like unsweetened Teddy Grahams. I know this because my brother-in-law gets them for his dog and is very amused to offer them as a snack to people as he and the dog both enjoy them.
Go for it. It’s… exhausting and frustrating, but worth a watch.
You’re right, that’s not a recap, but I watched both and it does pretty well capture the spirit of how the debate went. Yes, you’ll need to watch it, or an actual recap, to get the details of what the two said about the various other topics, but what Stewart highlighted was very representative of the rest of it.
They’d be seriously shooting themselves in the foot if they did that. Most corporations have 3rd party software that they would not be able or willing to give up, software development for Windows would be unable to test and debug, and I know from personal experience that many consumers find the already existing S Mode to be frustrating and confusing.
The issue with having mandatory useless comments is that any actually useful comments get lost in the noise.
It’s not meant to be a stereotype applied to all men, just the a thing that some men do. It happens when a man assumes, perhaps subconsciously, that the woman he is speaking to is his intellectual inferior and would surely benefit from his opinion on whatever topic without any regard to her possible expertise on the topic, or even his own lack thereof. I’ve rarely witnessed it myself, but know women who have had to put up with it. Stereotypeing all men as “manslainers” would be rude, but mocking the men who actually behave that way is cool with me.
Oh yeah, rub my face in those gorgeous technicalities. You want to mock my logical fallacy? Do it. Point out my fallacy and laugh; I can take it.

In English, you can often just verb a noun, and the meaning is still clear.
I would argue that doesn’t qualify as trivial.
As a Millennial, I’m now too old to tell the difference.
Right, but Qatar committed to treating those tourists as guests, and as far as I know, did exactly that, even easing some of their morality laws for the visitors. Attending the Qatar World Cup was unethical, but not stupidly self-endangering. Attending the World Cup in the US under the current situation is stupidly self-endangering, especially if you aren’t “white”, but also sometimes even then.
