I’ve wanted to do this for some time, but everyone tells me there’s no way to make it work without constantly updating the blacklist. Is it really such a hassle?
You’re absolutely correct, and we should fight to ensure that the law is presented equally to all charges. That doesn’t refute my point. This is the core foundation of British Common Law, that only a sure and clear conviction may be justly carried out. Any doubt leaves injustice as the outcome as sure as you claim it to be so for the poor. If we rewrite the rules or even disregard existing precident on the grounds that “well they wouldn’t be just if it was us at the noose,” then we are pushing for the type of system you (rightfully) claim to be unequally unjust.
I can tell you’re being facetious, but you’re 100% right. You do, indeed, need to give every benefit of the doubt in our legal process. That is what is meant by “innocent until proven guilty.” They must make it so there is no foothold for appeal. No “well you didn’t tell me…” or “you should have had a firm definition for…” No, if the legal system wants to take someone down, REALLY take them down, they must do it with every ounce of assurance and with no room for doubt that this person explicitly broke a law, in full knowledge and with warning, that they can be convicted to the full extent of said law.

Your brain can’t tell the difference and tallies the perceived callories that wind up going unused until you exacuate the waste.

We’ve been piping them 5% of the DOD budget for like 40 years, gave them iron domes, rifles, aircraft, and tracks and wheels, with ammunition for the lot. I think we’ve done our share as an Ally, and Israel’s actions can only reflect poorly on us when they use our tools to excercize manifest destiny.
From what I understand, when it comes to terms and compromise, he’s sharp as a tack. Tbh if he was half as good at managing domestic affairs and taking a hard line on the 1%, I’d almost be excited for a rematch in 2024.
I think I preemptively trained myself against VR sickness by playing halo CE on my OG Xbox while running on the treadmill in like 2005
Look at Battletech. It’s an established IP, sure, but very niche compared to Warhammer, and those sales estimates were blown out of the water. I think it’s more to do with the fact that this game is so much more different in genre and tone than other HBS titles like BT and Shadowrun. They had few of their core fans who were looking for a game like Lamplighters and therefore were basically relying on new fans.
The purpose of life (imo) is to discover humanity in yourself and what “the best human” means to you. People get their ideas on “the best human” from many inspired examples. The Buddha, Mohammed the Prophet, Jesus of Nazareth, Julius Caesar, or Jimmy Buffet. Some people need no such idols and can form their own understanding of what it means to be human, but all of these scale.
Your humanity plays into the identity of your family, plays into the identity of your city/town, plays into the identity of your region, plays into the identity of your nation, and at the top is the true meaning of life: the culmination of every dream and desire, the moral fabric of our species, and the embodiment of the only such entity in existence to our knowledge. The purpose of life is to find that, reconcile with it, and use the wisdom you gain in doing so to help shape our species into a happy, healthy, and mature civilization, or die trying.
