I only use Facebook for local community info as I can’t get that anywhere else. My fake profile works wonderful for that.

I have been trying to work on my attention span ever since quitting Reddit. There’s this great book I’m reading, it has everything in it that I love, I would have been pulled in if this was 20 years ago (yeah, I’m old). But I find I can only handle about 5 minutes or so before I feel that urge for “fresh” information. It sucks!

It’s very much a nerd/geek environment at the moment. There isn’t much for normies to look at…yet.

Yeah, I’m not into podcasts and YouTube videos either. Just let me read about my games please

I’ll keep Gmail for any shit I might want to sign up for and use ProtonMail as my serious email account.

Like driving my car. I haven’t got a clue how it all works under the hood but I know enough to get me where I want, when I want.

A toxic relationship where I kept begging for just one more hit. So glad I’ve found Lemmy.

That’s exactly what it feels like. It’s so refreshing and I like the fact I can scroll for about 30 mins, exhaust my feed and step away. I don’t get sucked in for most of the day like Reddit.

These days I often just skip the first 2 pages and go straight to page 3 for my search results to be able to find anything slightly resembling what I searched for.
