Ah… But there is another. The all mighty creator (app developer of voyager) whose name is in purple!
I am but a cog in a machine. A lazy one though.

I’m guessing you are using Voyager app. It’s because I’m your instance (sopuli) admin :)
I’m not going to push anyone who uses a secure decentralized FOSS chat already to signal, but someone who uses telegram/viber/whatsapp is easier to get gradually on signal, which is super low effort compared to the ones you mentioned.
I’ve tried. I’m happy that I got friends and family to move from SMS and WhatsApp to Signal. Some I got to move to e.g. matrix but that’s only a few.
Just my two cents since you asked. I agree with you but I don’t want perfect to be the enemy of good.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Anyone actually say during an interview that the reason they want the job was because they need money?
64·6 months agoNo, because I need that job to get money but saying so would most likely prevent me from getting that job and, by extension, money.
Ah, thanks! Didn’t know that. I guess it wont have an effect then and can be ignored.
Edit: fixed up wording.
I recently had this problem while dualbooting mint and windows: windows was shutting down the LAN hardware somehow.
Had to disable fast startup (in windows, but I recall some Motherboards have also “fast boot” in BIOS as well?) and also in windows’ LAN adapter settings a power saving option.
This is the thread that helped me: https://askubuntu.com/a/879818
A shot in the dark, but hopefully it helps.
Yeah holy shit. When I was starting out and tagged along a senior on a trip he literally hauled a big backpack of spirits with him.
Got out of that industry after a few years when I realized why every senior was drinking. The money was just not worth it for me.

13·7 months agoSadly it’s not FOSS (just mentioning since we are in FOSS community).
I would have paid for the one-time pro payment even if it was FOSS and was just to support developers. It’s really good.

Linux@lemmy.ml•"This Linux thing is better than normal computers"
151·8 months agoThanks for sharing, this made me smile. Also it warms my heart to hear how you are making tech accessible to this kid.
Many of us take it for granted but I remember how my dad used to go over to family friends in his free-time to help with computer stuff. I feel like I was too young to learn but it did set an example for me.
Well, atleast they explained how they “fixed” the problem.
Got to love those “all good, problem solved/went away” - posted 5 years ago
Yeah. I love Signal but it doesn’t belong in that list. Dansup (creator of loops and pixelfed) is apparently working on “Sup” that will be a decentralized alternative to whatsapp.
Ah shit I’ve forgotten the ancient tablets, ill fix that thank you!
Hmm… Smells like a windows user aswell… Look at that:
.desktopdesktop.iniEdit: fixed the filename
There is a draw.io extension for VS Code (like another comment mentioned, it looks like the main application is vs code), and the UI elements inside the open tab with grid looks like draw.io’s minimalistic dark theme.Edit:
yeah looks like it:https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=hediet.vscode-drawioThe screenshot you have in your post just has a different drawio theme than the default one. You can change the theme in settings of drawio.Edit 2: Scrap that, it was proved to be obsidian based on LordeMostarda’s comment and answers below

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is it that you do to fight off the Sunday scaries?
3·1 year agoSimilar experiences. I was thinking “that’s it? Now i have to do this 5 times a week, recover on the weekend, and then again for the rest of my life?!”.
People kept telling me you get used to it. I felt hopeless after couple of years because it didn’t get better.
Now I realize that a full time job doesn’t need to mean that you are a husk working your life away, always completely drained.

2·1 year agoI used to ask the same question as OP, then I discovered this trick (with crap load of luck, I had tried to find a job that I’d enjoy for a long time before I got one).
