Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•what addiction have you kicked? no matter how insignificant you feel it was
4·1 year agoQuit smoking a few years back, that was an absolute bitch to do.
Still get the feeling every now and then, only ‘relapsed’ once at a funeral.

My dude, this was never a war, legitimising genocide in this way doesn’t help.

41·2 years agoCan’t help but feel for the developers here. I get that Bethesda has no responsibility to keep 3rd party Devs updated, but surely someone on the team would have noticed the potential for community engagement and worked with those putting the time and effort into the IP.

Technology@lemmy.world•TikTok faces calls for ban amid claims of anti-Israel ‘indoctrination’English
0·2 years agoWild that the answer to young people being exposed to literal genocide and having an opinion about it, isn’t to try and do something about the genocide, but to call it indoctrination and try to ban it.
Make it make sense.
This is pretty cool, thanks.

7·2 years agoYeah, this was my assumption also, for the record I’m totally fine with that but it was worth an ask!

politics @lemmy.world•Anti-far right protest in Germany ended early because too many people attended it
71·2 years agoThe electorate is for sure heading left, if you look into it though, our parties are not. The Labour Party (Clear favourites to win next time) have been gradually sliding right over the last 5 years, adopting more centrist and centre-right policies in an attempt to win over right-wing voters.
Many on the left in the UK are incredibly unhappy, with good reason. The leader of Labour described his current strategy as a “under-new-management, eliminate-the-left” approach.
That’s not to say that things wouldn’t be better, of course, just not ideal for many left-wing voters out there looking for progressive change.

30·2 years agoGotta say, wish we had this problem over here in the UK.
If it helps, you can just use something else like Lemmy and still access all kbin content, that’s what I’m currently doing.
This is interesting as I have had much the opposite effect. I very rarely see anything Linux related. Though honestly I don’t use Linux so that works just fine for me.

9·2 years agoNot in the least because Elon Musk is a complete idiot that has only managed to whittle literal billions of dollars just by being himself.
Every good company he has touched was either built from the ground up by someone else, like Tesla & PayPal and remains profitable in spite of his existence, or was built from the ground up by someone else and was subsequently ran into the ground - See Twitter.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How does moderation decide what to remove? What do you do if you see a perfectly reasonable comment in the modlog?
4·2 years agoI only run a small community surrounding my home country, but I only plan on removing things that aren’t directly related to the country or at least adjacent to. As well as anything that is largely irrelevant which I suspect of being spam.
Rest is fine, discussion is healthy. I don’t need to agree with everyone, that isn’t what this is about.

politics @lemmy.world•McConnell appears to freeze while speaking with reporters in Kentucky
1126·2 years agoExactly this ^
The insane vitriol of some people on here, wishing death to this man, rejoicing in very obvious cognitive decline, it’s harrowing.
The policy this man has supported and even pioneered is horrific, and frankly he should never have been allowed to push that shit nor would I ever support it, but you can bet your fucking ass I’m not going to be sat here laughing about an old man in clear mental distress or wishing death on him, because I’m not a piece of shit and I actually have some form of morality.
