Not sure what you mean. They can already pull any public data on lemmy, as can anyone else.

Dude. Have you been to taco bell? You can get a well over 2000 calorie meal for like $15
Welcome to lemmy. I hate big corporations but some of the people on this site will blame amazon when they stub their toe.
I assume because some fucking ghoul noticed people liked taking them for their cars so now we just don’t get napkins!
They were probably just out and too busy to restock or something. It happens. Never been to a fast food place where they don’t provide napkins and I steal napkins from the taco bell I live near regularly. What a weird overreaction.
Just tried and it said I needed a payment method from the country.
The vast majority of content uploaded is never going to make them any money. They get free content but hosting it is incredibly expensive.
Wikipedia has a more specific definition in the first paragraph:
Astroturfing is the practice of hiding the sponsors of a message or organization (e.g., political, advertising, religious, or public relations) to make it appear as though it originates from, and is supported by, grassroots participants. It is a practice intended to give the statements or organizations credibility by withholding information about the source’s financial backers.
I think it’s pretty hard to argue that labor unions can be astroturfing. It’s not like they have a lot of wealthy donors who are secretly trying to push narratives to encourage workers organizing.
Astroturfing is:
The disguising of an orchestrated campaign as a “grass-roots” event
Idk I never had issues with that. My recommendations are pretty good and relevant generally.
There’s still an enormous amount of great content on youtube. You don’t need to watch the commercial shit.
It’s still crazy to think just how quickly lemmy grew and how recently still. Software development takes a lot of time but it’s nice to know that the devs are chipping away at some of these major issues.
I used some dating apps on and off for about 4 years and got probably a couple dozen or so genuine not bot matches. Most of which didn’t last for more than a message or two. Even ran my profile by some of my women friends who I trust and they said it looked good. While obviously it works for some people, the experience for most people isn’t that great. These apps make their money by keeping people on the platform so getting matches goes against their main profit motive. The traditional methods work a lot better.
It seems like you could support backward compatibility
Good one lol. I’m sure apple will think about it haha
DACs in phones these days are totally fine these days. There really isn’t any need for an external one unless you need to drive higher impedance cans. Quality-wise, they’re totally fine.
No lol. It all gets converted to an analog signal to drive the headphones. There’s no difference in fidelity between 1/8" and USB-C. It’s literally the exact same signal.
I know, but I’m just explaining why it happens. Most people just leave it default.
I think that’s mostly when people use speech to text. I know gboard automatically censors words like that.
I’m for term limits but one term is a bit short. Like with any job, it takes some time to really learn the way the system works and to be effective in the position.
Reddit? Reddit is overwhelmingly liberal.
If they’re really just after data at all costs, they could easily spin up an instance that has no apparent link to threads and federate secretly. I agree with other arguments about not federating with them but idk, all these data privacy arguments against federating with threads are so dumb. If they want it, they’ll get it because getting it is so absurdly easy.
