How many seconds you’re prepared to wait for Windows to shutdown.

Ive changed my entire work flow because of this. On my laptop I use paperWM for infinite horizontal scrolling/tiling and “vertical” workspaces for organizing windows. Instead of minimizing windows, I just switch workspaces. Windows that need to be next to each other are on the same workspace, anything else is treated like a full screen app. It’s a little weird, but for productivity with a TouchPad it’s been an absolute game changer. Ican have a workspace dedicated to programming, obe thats just documents, one for each of my courses, one thats discord and music players, etc.

For a normal mouse, it’s a kafkaesque nightmare.

I’m not great at English, but “discard all changes” shouldn’t ever mean “Delete”.

I’m just mad as hell at how many things seem to have topped out in the 1940’s. My car is basically the same. Five wheels and I chase an explosion around. Air travel is basically the same. Big aluminum tube that’s expensive size as hell. TV is basically the same. Tune in, sit on ass, watch.

You look at how life changed between 1900-1945, and how life changed since then, and we’ve really stagnated.

That’s not to say it’s all the same, phones are amazing, but they don’t change my life fundamentally, a day without my phone is very much the same as a day with my phone.

If you’re a sewer, you can probably convert some fabric and a cloths hanger into something similar.

I don’t think it would matter that much since a desktop at 3k is very similar on modern hardware to a desktop at 1080.

But I’d be interested in someone who had the hardware to test this. Right now I use my laptop for school work, and in trying to squeeze every ounce of battery life I was running my display at 45hz instead of 60hz. I had a free day during the summer so I charged it up, ran a YouTube video on repeat and timed the battery life, then changed the display frequency and it was like a 2 minute difference. I also tried it while running a second 1080p monitor through hdmi and the difference was something like 10 minutes. Like, so small a difference or didn’t matter.

I don’t have the data sheet anymore so these numbers are anecdotal etc etc YMMV. The biggest change for me was buying a 65w PD battery bank and keeping that charged in my bag.

I’ve enjoyed my time on fedora. It’s recent enough that my hardware works when I upgrade, and stable and supported enough that I haven’t had to go out of my way to get something working.

I never heard of this game, except for how poorly it’s performed. I didn’t see any sneak peaks, or ads on the Playstation store. I didn’t hear about it from friends or guildies.

I know that’s a sample size of one, but no one I know or play games with had it in their radar at all. This game showed up one weekend with some drama over psn accounts or something, then flopped and I still know almost nothing about the actual game.

I saw more information on The Finals than I saw on this.

On Windows or Linux?

I don’t think I’ll leave OW2 for this, purely because I’m super casual and only play unranked/MH.

I’m glad that is coming out and people are having fun though.

I can’t help but think that Microsoft has decided to proceed in some way that will break compatibility, so they’re done with Mono now.

I know it’s skeptical, but I just have no faith in that company to act in good faith with anything.

For like, a couple years, sure. Then there will be a huge push to fix all the weird shit generated by AI.

I don’t know that valve needs to bring steamOS to other devices. Pretty sure Bazzite is good enough for most folks.

My printer can print, but most of the other features are locked behind Brothers drivers. Copying/ scanning from the document feeder and duplex were kind of a pain to get working, and for some reason only work from certain programs.

I’m doing a CIS degree right now, and I did 99% of my first year on fedora. I did need a full windows install because some exams took place using a lock down software.

Honestly, the hardest part was remembering to boot into windows the day before so it could update and stabilize for the exam the next day
