I use mine to run VJ software and do light shows at music events.
Since the deck is a powerful computer, and the form factor is quite compact, I find it better than laptops for the task.
Not really. See the support page regarding this:
As a new default, your phone number will no longer be visible to everyone in Signal. You can opt to display your phone number. However, people who have your number saved in their phone’s contacts will still see your phone number, regardless of your settings, since they already know it.
They know my phone number. Which in Europe is tied to me. They absolutely hold info about who talks to who
I get what you mean. GitHub and friends have pushed that back to a more centralized approach. However I think that it’s not too bad actually. Most projects tend to be centralized too
I mean, it’s decentralized alright, but it doesn’t mean it’s HA or automatically replicated. You can just use a different origin server and push/pull from it instead.
It’s a game of cat and mouse. I’d be willing if I needed to use win11 myself but for my parents it’s either gonna be Linux or a new computer
Yeah I work in tech and I’m the only one that cares enough to use Firefox. All my colleagues use chrome or chrome with makeup.
Maybe ad blocking will be what broke the camel’s back, but I doubt more than a few will care enough to switch.
Seems like valve read this post :D

I think it’s related to the monitor I was plugging on HDMI. With a different screen it works better.
But I still have sometimes the displayport screen not turn on after sleep, and the deck crashing when unplug/replugging it :(
??? You’re just baiting now lol
Yeah it has its place. Just not in a Linux community. Is that hard to understand?
Except my layout (bepo) is not in any specific locale and was installed manually. So I don’t think this would work
This is a Linux community. Not sure what you imagine most people here think of windows…
You can’t delete the default one it thinks you will use based on your locale, and it reverts to the default on boot. Also has the worst shortcut to silently change the layout (contol+shift)
Personally on Mac I never had to change my layout again, and if I had to it’s just an icon to click and it stays that way. On windows however, like you said, it’s a nightmare
I absolutely hate that there are 3 ways to change my keyboard layouts. I very often hit control shift and since it’s hidden that the layout was changed I wonder why the last sentence I wrote is gibberish…
I wasn’t clear in my post, but I have a monitor plugged via HDMI too, and that’s the one having trouble either turning on, or being stuck in 480p. I will try with a different monitor or cable.
With only the displayport monitor it works well
It’s false if I remember correctly. Steam prohibits you from selling steam keys outside the store for less than the price on steam. They don’t forbid you from selling cheaper elsewhere
If it’s not for everyone it should not be the default for many distributions, and other DEs should be recommended for beginners then.
I think the design philosophy of “you have to adapt to the software” is harmful. Software should adapt to you and disappear out of your way for common tasks. Something Gnome leadership fails to understand.
