Grabbed Mass Effect Legendary Edition on sale for £4.99 and having a blast. Completed the first game last night and now started on the second one. Runs like a dream, EA launcher didn’t cause any issues (I loaded it in desktop mode the first time) and the game is as good as I remember from first time around.
The only issue I’m having is when I use the HDR calibration in game I wind up losing a bunch of detail in dark areas and the image overall is way too dark.
I’ve also picked up subnautica ready to give it a proper go at some point after picking it up and it not quite gripping me on game pass on desktop.
I’ve never been a Linux guy but recently I’ve switched to Pop!OS on my laptop and bought a Steam Deck. Other than a few teething issues with the laptop I’ve had a great experience and I wouldn’t consider myself ridiculously tech savvy. I’d absolutely consider switching my gaming PC over but my worry is loss of performance and being unable to use my game pass games. I’d be super happy if I could switch my PC over in the next couple of years.
God, Planetside and Planetside 2 in their prime were my absolute jam. I was a reasonably active participant in an outfit called Libertas de Dominitas on Werner and even went to an outfit meetup in Manchester. There’s never been anything else that quite comes close to Planetside.
I’ve had a great time playing the Stellaris base game but stopped playing after I felt like I was being locked out of a bunch of new content in DLC. I’ve been keeping an eye out for a complete pack of the DLC but even on sale I’d need to pay way more than I paid for the base game.
I mean… I don’t want to see that either but “normie” platforms sounds really wanky and elitist.
All of this!
