I use Windows 11 inside of a Gentoo vm inside of Windows 10 on my ipad.
Air conditioning. All kinds of bacteria, dust, mold, algae, who knows what else is going through the evaporator, through the air ducts and blasting right into your lungs. Yeah, there’s a filter, but it’s on the intake side. It doesn’t account for what has built up in there over the years and it doesn’t catch everything. The one in your car can be equally as gross.
There’s cornfields next to airports where avgas still contains lead. The lead concentration in the soil around airports is very high. There’s also fields next to old Air Force bases where they used firefighting foam that contains PFAS. They would run drills with the foam, so it was used fairly regularly.
The benefit of Ubuntu server over debian is that it has a lot more built in packages. If you’re just trying to get a random service running then it’s much easier for a lamen to get running without a bunch of faffing with missing packages.
This is why you check rate my professor and you should put this on there as well.
I started a sub as a distraction.
Scrap metal. I always leave my scrap metal out on trash day next to the trash can. A guy in a pickup will come around and get it. I would have to save it up for years for it to be worth a single trip, but he’s getting a full load or two every day. I’m sure I’ve lost out on a few hundred bucks over the years.
I’m sure if you started an electronics recycling company or a clean out business you could get people to pay you to take their stuff.
There’s an older story where the system admin was spying on kids in their own homes through the webcam using similar software.
Just buy a brother laser printer with a USB port.
You just reminded me that’s it’s illegal to have a tracking device on someone’s car without their knowledge. If you buy a car second hand and they are tracking you , then that’s probably against the law.
The main benefit of having a remote start app is that you can use it from far away like when you’re inside of your workplace where a fob won’t work.
I didn’t understand the appeal of following individuals on social media
Many areas in the u.s. are spread out pretty far. If the office isn’t open when I get off of work then I can’t pick it up. There’s a lot of post offices, even small towns have one, so that’s not such a big deal. Amazon, FedEx, and UPS offices are few and far between. I couldn’t even tell you where I found pick up one of their packages in my area.
I ship quite a few things and I only use USPS and UPS. I also use pirate ship, which only has those two anyway, but I won’t use FedEx for a number of reasons.
Doesn’t stop companies from sending bogus DMCA takedowns to sites like GitHub.
If your instance disappears, then how can you make sure that you could use your same username on an instance that is created after that one disappears?
You could decentralize user accounts so that they aren’t attached to any instance, or at least the account owner can move their account from one instance to another.
I moved out on my own that year and only had cable Internet and a cell phone. Facebook was still edu only, myspace was still popular as hell, you could get DVDs through the mail from Netflix, movie piracy was extremely popular.
