  • I dont know if your location in canada is similar, but i know the mega churches (and some smaller churches) around me have an open door policy and allow anyone to be in their lobby to use their internet during the daylight hours. Some even provide coffee and snacks all day.

Dont know if thats any sort of option for you, and you might have people from the church approaching you at times, but maybe it could have worked out?

  • This is how all my work documentation is. There are “shoulds” and “shalls” in our processes. If you don’t do a “should,” you just need to have a good reason why not. If you don’t do a “shall,” you need a blessing from the person who owns the process, and someone else needs to agree that they accept all risk associated with not doing it, and they literally have to put their name next to it. It’s a big deal, as it should be, because most of those “shalls” are there for safety

  • Idk man, I have a federally compliant 1 way pager. So it’s not illegal. We score the highest marks on our DoD security audits every year. Theyre distrubuted from the security office, so I’m sure they do some sort of vetting on each individual one.

We’re a govt contractor, but our civilian govt counterparts use them too

  • People that work in classified environments. You can’t have smart devices (phones, watches, anything that communicates with the outside) while in these controlled spaces. pagers are acceptable because they’re 1 way communication, so there’s no risk of data leaks from the classified space
