There was actually a german ad about this quite some time ago: a grandma did this, then called her grandson “i think i just deleted the internet”.
How the ad continued? No clue.
What it was advertising? No clue.
You can install windows for free. The only difference to the paid version is a reminder in the bottom right corner to activate windows. And that can be disabled with a registry edit
As of recently, it doesnt even let you open cmd during setup. Found that out when setting up a win11 laptop for a colleague a couple weeks ago
I recently played the demo for ultrakill (fast-paced, combo-based fps) and had a blast
The dudes issue was that he wasnt prepared for that matrix-dodge. Bowing down for the other shoe telegraphed his next move so obviously
Because game studios like to number only the main entries of a series? Otherwise the last GTA wouldnt have been GTA:V but GTA:XV
And? Different language versions of wikipedia articles arent just translated from one another, they are written independently from each other. There is probably also alot in the german article that you wont find in the english version.
I telefrag the guy sitting next to me on the train
I think the main reason lemmy is mostly news, memes and discussion atm is that thats something everyone can do/ participate in. And since there arent that many users right now, thats what most content is.
Though I for one would be very happy to see such projects: self-made art, music, crafting, cooking, whatever else people are up to. And I dont think im alone in that
Even resident evil and devil may cry have decent mods. They are mostly visual (costumes, vfx, stuff like that) but I still enjoy them a lot
TIL: memes are a reliable source of information. As opposed to wikipedia
The fact that lemmy and mastodon arent websites, they are collections of connected instances which are managed by individuals and collectives. Elon could set up his own instance, or try to buy all the existing ones, but that wouldnt stop others from setting up new ones as well. The lemmy website is just an aggregator, each instance has its own website as well.

Lol of course its PragerU. I remember they had a similar video defending slave-owners a couple years ago, but at least that one was taken down pretty quickly.
Why would that be necessary? I watch shows where, if you cut out segments from it and presented it to me, i wouldnt think “what a xenophobic, transphobic, racist piece of shit”.
I mean what are you even trying to suggest? That the segments become real humanitarian once you watch them back to back?
This has always been such a stupid argument in defense of people that are obviously pieces of shit. No, I dont need to read the collected works of jordan peterson to understand he sucks, and I dont need to waste my time watching an entire episode of “minute-of-hate daily” to understand Tucker is a cryptofascist
Generally agree, but your point about GOG is wrong. Not only can you install games from their platform, its also (to my knowledge) the only storefront where you can get games completely DRM-Free, since you dont need GOG Galaxy to download or install their games
The issue is that steam (like the other stores except gog) doesnt sell games, they sell licenses.
