I wish I could. The only maga hat wearing fascist in my job site acts too nice and friendly so I’ll look like a raging hysterical idiot if I openly act like a dick to him. People around me either don’t care or only want to keep the peace in their immediate area. Every day we get more awful news from the administration, hear about how ICE abducts random people, and see how much we’ve alienated ourselves in the international community. Despite all this we still collectively act like everything’s fine. It’s maddening.

What should we do with the ones who voted to hurt others but now want to change sides because they’re being hurt too? Should we ignore the very likely possibility they’ll jump right back to the other side when the Republicans backpedal just enough to no longer look so blatantly shameless? Let them turn against Trump on their own, I just want to keep my distance from these people before they likely disappoint us in the next election cycle.

I’ve worked with a bunch of hardcore Linux users in my career, some of whom even knew about Lemmy. Not one of them have ever worn striped socks though.

RTX 3080 owner here. I get a black screen whenever I try to play a game after the desktop goes to sleep in Linux Mint. The only workaround is to restart the PC and play it before its screensaver comes on. The struggle is real.

Currently suffering through the pain of a programmer leaving a year ago and seemingly no one inherited his knowledge of the stuff he was working on for one of my projects. It was also the fault of other departments for delaying my work for even longer but they don’t care. It’s agony having to ask around the office for someone who might actually have the info I need.

I don’t think you were a jackass. You purchased a physical copy and thus shouldn’t need an internet connection to start your game (unless it’s multiplayer only). It’s crazy how easy it is for people to get used to new normals when it comes to things like this.

I usually listen in on the 2m band because it’s fun hearing the crazy folks in W6NUT ramble on. It’s like a ham 4chan.

They had the same processor used in the PS2 onboard until the next revisions cut costs and started to use software emulation to achieve the same results instead. Newer revisions then started getting rid of it altogether.

I’d say the PS3 was the pinnacle of console gaming, at least with the early 60GB models. They had full backwards compatibility with PS1 and PS2 discs and DVDs while adding a Blu-ray player and internal hard drive to eliminate the need of memory cards. Access to online multiplayer and PSN was also totally free until MS showed Sony how much they could charge for the next generation of consoles. While it had its fair share of controversies like the initial price tag, PSN hack, and updating the firmware to no longer boot custom Linux OSs, it generally had the most features that any casual fan would enjoy.

Lemme.ee is fine. It wouldn’t hurt to have multiple accounts in different instances in case one goes down for maintenance so you can keep browsing. I recommend dbzero since they’re techy and don’t lean on politics as much as other instances.

Opting out still seems like they’re pinkie promising they won’t spy on you. There’s no guarantee they’re not using all those sensors on your car to keep tabs on you. The only thing they can’t do is sell your data without getting caught. Are there any guides to install a faraday cage on the telemetry antenna? I miss having dumb cheap vehicles.
