I remember reading somewhere that I’m addition to being an promoted on maga web sites, the questionnaire was also heavily promoted at Trump’s rallies. I can’t find a link on that now, but it makes perfect sense that’s one of the places where they’d be advertising it and gathering names. It would be a very effective way of reaching those people.

Not this idiotic argument again! The Democrats are definitely flawed as a political party. They have many large blindspots like this one. But they are miles away on a number of key issues from the GOP. And if you don’t see that then you are part of the problem that got us into this clusterfuck.

From the interviews I’ve been seeing, at least some of them voted against Trump due to concerns about bullshit like this. I expect the majority did vote for him, in which case yes, karma’s a bitch. But a) we shouldn’t be treating them as a single voting block that all vote the same way, and b) regardless of the schadenfreude we get watching the Trump supporters among them freaking out now, there are grave knock-on effects for consumers looming - including those consumers who didn’t vote for Trump.

And of course it features Margarine Trailer Queen. Whenever there’s an insane story it turns out that troll has stumbled out from under her bridge to be the center of attention.

I agree with you. In this case it’s time to bring this up. I quietly blocked monk months ago because I was tired of seeing his shit in my feed, but I didn’t want to bring attention to his inflammatory posts. But that clearly hasn’t worked on a wider level. He’s still posting sketchy stuff and annoying other people here. Sometimes you have to call people out and the wider community has to act, even at the risk of drawing attention to the problem users.

I had actually forgotten about that guy. I blocked him a few months ago because I got tired of his incessant and biased spam.

So we have an incoming administration that:

• Is focused on economic and legal revenge above serving the people
• Is hell-bent on gutting the federal government and replacing experienced civil service staff with loyal, clueless lackeys
• Wants to deport millions of illegal immigrants regardless of the economic consequences
• Plans on disenfranchise millions of voters from both parties so it can create a theocratic autocracy
• Doesn’t understand how tariffs work but is determined to use them anyway
• Has a leader who is in the pocket of a foreign enemy
• Will lean heavily into energy strategies that focus on climate change denialism
• Has a history of pissing off our allies and fawning over our enemies

And those are just the points that spring to mind. There’s are plenty of other problematic points.
