  • Notepad ++ is invaluable for writing code, I’ve used it for a long while now.

Also great is paint dot net which is a super advanced paint application that is borderline as good as photo shop, particularly when you add on all the community-created functionality.

Revo uninstaller is the first thing I put on a new machine before I delete all the bloatware that comes with a fresh install of windows. You would be surprised what is left over when you only use the built in ‘remove a program’ process.

Lastly, browser based but free and excellent, is sketch up, which is an architectural rendering application great for designing restaurants and retail spaces. A little bit of a learning curve but very smooth and functional once you get the hang of it.

Edit - VLC goes without saying right?

  • If you are in pain now, you will love it when they are finished with the root canal. I have had six of them over the years, and every time I went from feeling absolutely horrible to 100% in the 1 hour it took them to do the operation.

The only thing that is not comfortable are the initial numbing shots.

Make sure they get you good and numb. If you have any doubt as to whether you need another shot, just get another shot.

After 3 or 4 or 5 shots of numbing agent, you won’t feel a thing.

Once the numbing wears off you will feel totally fine.

It’s really not that bad, much better than living with tooth pain.

Also, ask for a big gloop of topical anesthetic where they are planning to do the injections, it helps a little bit.

Lastly, ask for 10 milligrams of diazepam if you have someone to drive you. A little benzo to take the edge off goes a super long way and dentists have no problem prescribing it. Have the dentist prescribe it and take it 1 hour before the appointment. I am 200lbs and 10mg does the trick.

  • Walz did a great job, I am super happy.

I like how Walz chose not to dig into Vance too much, but instead he focused on a return to some sort of a normal functioning government.

Even some republicans are tired of the war between the left and right, and some of those who publicly identify as trump supporters may secretly vote for Harris simply because they do not want to continue to be at odds with their left wing family members.

Some republicans might recall a time when they were the patriotic ones, loving their football, their police, and their country. Now the party of trump is being told that football is woke, that the police are weak, and that the country is a shithole.

I think some of them miss what the Republican party used to be.

Even if it is just 5 percent of trump voters, Walz did a great job sending the message that it’s time we come together as a country and start making progress where it can be made, rather than feeding into the identity politics game of mud slinging.

Vance and his ilk wear their atrocious views on their sleeves, we don’t need to waste any time pointing out how terrible they are, we need to instead focus entirely on what we can accomplish together.

Everyone who is eligible needs to vote this time around, let’s all do our part to make it a landslide.

  • All of his shootings were legally self defense

Not quite… The jury’s decision simply indicated that the prosecution did not meet their burden of proof, not that the defense’s position was accepted as fact. This is an important distinction.

… at trial the jury absolutely decided his case correctly.

Agreed, but keep in mind he was found to be not guilty, which is not the same thing as innocent.

    Because he’s immensely, painfully stupid.

    Immensely, painfully, and dangerously stupid.

But we really, really don’t need to give him any more of a spotlight than he already has.

Fair enough, but I think that this case should be taught in law school as an example of prosecutorial negligence in that if he were simply charged appropriately, 2nd degree non premeditated and/or manslaughter, he would be in prison now for a minimum of 15 years but probably closer to 25 years.

The choice to only charge 1st degree, which took on the burden of proving premeditation, was the biggest legal blunder of our time… worse than Alex Jones’s lawyer sending the full cell phone copy to the prosecutor, which was an absolute joy to watch live as it happened.

  • They did NOT establish definitively that it was self defense.

The verdict established that the murders were not premeditated, which they weren’t.

For the charge of 1st degree murder the prosecution had to prove premeditation which they were unable to do, hence the not guilty.

For some inexplicable reason, the prosecution failed to also charge 2nd degree, which would have likely received a guilty verdict.

Please note the distinction: while the defense certainly argued self defense, the not guilty verdict does not prove the defense theory to be correct, it simply proves the prosecution did not meet their burden of proof regarding premeditation, nothing more.

In the US legal system, people are not proclaimed innocent, they are found to be guilty or not guilty. Not guilty of one particular charge does not mean that the defendant is innocent of all crimes.

    I watched the entire trial.
