  • If your looking to use linux and have good battery life tho its not like thats hard to do. Especially with your use case. My laptop (latitude 7400) has a loud fan and runs hot on windows and undervolting is bios locked so on windows the battery life would suck and it would be loud and hot. But on linux i customize the tlp settings and turn the clock speeds down, make sure battery mode is on even when plugged in, and i get great battery life, and the fan never even turns on. Just pulled up powertop and it says with the web browser im typing this in and running a local music player im pulling 5W from the battery, at 81% right now, and have 10 hours until empty at current usage. And this thing only cost like 250$ cuz i got it used.

  • This isn’t something you can rank for a lot of these. For example, speeding. Are you going 75 in a 60, or 80 in a school zone? Very different things. Murder. Who’d you kill, and why? Lots of people i wouldnt mind so much. Treason. Some people who commit treason are heroes. Imagine committing treason against Nazi Germany for example. Ranking actions in general just isn’t possible without the exact context, and situation being known. Thats kinda why we have a justice system that is so complicated, and requires long drawn out trials.

  • What if instead of trying to be cutting edge and shit you look backwards. Do something with mechanical computing. Maybe think up a way it could still be useful in the modern era. Like in high radiation environments where electronic computers break down too quickly for example. I wonder if you could design a mechanical computer that could operate indefinitely in an environment like chernobyl, and power itself via the ambient radiation in the area? That could be cool.

Disclaimer: i am not a computer engineer in the slightest, and didn’t even have a classical education so im not 100% sure what a dissertation is.

  • Well “intelligence” is a pretty vague term. Different people are good at different things. Intelligence isnt like a CPU clock or whatever where you can give it some general score. One person might be really good with language, and another is really good at math, or another is musically gifted, etc. How do you decide who is more “intelligent” between them? When theyre all amazing at different things? I know a guy who can barely put a sentence together, and struggles to understand what im saying sometimes, but he can take a car apart and put it back together again from memory.

Now as for if certain mental disabilities have a co-morbidity of trouble with speech im sure they do tho im no expert. Its very common for 1 condition to have a few other conditions that commonly accompany it. You can look up the specific diagnosis you have and check what the co-morbiditys are online.

  • A very small probe that emits an impossible to miss signal at random pretty long intervals and then adjusts its orbit to be very different. It would basically pretend to be various Aliens civilizations trying to contact us. Like every 45 days a new signal from a new part of the sky is picked up and then never repeats and if were just getting tons of messages at once. And since the probe is small and doesnt have a predictable orbit it would be very hard to figure out that its actually a probe and then find it.

Alternatively. A plane full of snakes.
