Black belt in Mikado, Photo model, for the photos where they put under ‘BEFORE’
Maybe Q4OS, but if you a Gamer, which want to play the most recent games (logically in a Gaming PC), Linux sadly isn’t the best option, the most modern games are Windows only, the advantages of Linux are others. In this case the best option is to use Linux in dual boot with Windows. I hope that it change in the future.
For those which need to use Windows, here three mandatorio FOSS apps (the best IMHO)
With these you can use Windows 11, showing the middlefinger to M$
Using Cloudflair’s AI Labyrinth to fuck up AI crawlers
Good ol’ Nokia 3350 times
Smartphones are the biggest spyware. I prefer to lick my elbow before storing sensitive data in these devices or using it with banking or medical apps.
search the one which fits best your needs
https://alternativeto.net/software/spotify/?license=opensource
To simply liten to music, I use also often this one
https://www.internet-radio.com/ , more than 8000 dedicated stations for every genre 24/7, no account needed.
Don’t use anything with Facebook tracker APIs
Test Tools
Only if you activate the Recall feature which is well known, far from beeing secret. Apart of this, using the Portmaster app, you can controkk and block any MS telemetries with an simple click. Windows permits a lot of privacy settings, but naturally it don’t say it to the users how to do it. A good handling of Windows need an more advanced user as Linux. Windows only seems easier to handle in the surface.
I understand your point of view and I think that, if you already pay for an service which works for you, than changing to another is only an option and only recommended if you woun’t pay anymore for it. You can still test InviZible Pro apart, without a risk, because it’s FOSS, pausing your current service.
This is why I always look for an free, or better OpenSource alternative, before I use an paid one (in over 20 years this I never had needed). The first look for a needed soft or service is always in AlternativeTo.
Also an good choice, but Invizible Pro, apart of the DNS options, also offers the connection to I2P and TOR network.
Invizible Pro is an “must have” on the phone, (!) but download it from F-Droid, not from Google Play
From Switzerland, Sharrr, OpenSource, encrypted EE2E, no knowledge, 10GB/file, one time download. From the same author, https://scrt.link/, for share autodestructive encrypted notes.
Also nice GeoGebra, OpenSource from Austria (EU), online, Android, iPhone
Not FOSS but great, OmniCalculator from Poland (EU), online, free, a collection of 3718 calculators for every task.
Not so important how much telemetries, but where these go. A complex feature rich browser can have a lot of tech telemetries, but this is only bad if these go to sites not related to the functionality and third parties, eg. to Facebook, Amazon and others.
The first I remember is Odysee, Vimeo es often used by the Vivaldi blog.
Yes, this was the the sense of FOSS in origen, buy not since big US companies, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, META, etc., appropriated FOSS, offering most of their products, even implementing their FOSS APIs in others (see Mozilla). Google with its Google Code and Experiments, Microsoft in Github…this is dominance and FOSS gives them a cheap method in achieving it. I speak of independence of the US market, outside its influences, especially these globalplayers. This is why it is necessary to promote EU products, preferable FOSS, yes, but even if not, it is way better in privacy and user rights, by law, non existent in US products. I am already bored of seeing in FOSS, which requires an account, the poster “Log in with Google”. The time of My little Pony under the FOSS rainbow has gone since time, now it is Google and the US which control 80% of the web and with this hegemony it is urgent to end.
It’s good to name OpenSource alternatives, but currently it’s more important to push generally EU products and services. The EU need to get independent as much as possible from the US IT hegemony. There are published several webs with EU alternatives, eg. this one from Portugal
I don’t know, try it
