what we know that’s on the table
Who is we, and what’s on the table currently ?
But let’s make a few prediction for end of 2028
First wave of climatic refugee to hit the west. We start to see place with more intense flooding or deadly heat-wave, but not yet at the point people massively seek asylum far-away, but this is getting close
The mess in middle-east won’t get better
The conservative wave isn’t stuck to Murica, I see a couple of European countries more having either far-right at the goverment or with blocking-minority
Some progress in cancer research, it’s easy it’s moving every-day
IA industry crash, nowadays, there is tons of cool stuff, but beside AI generated catgirls, and instagram bots, there is no big application, and I don’t expect the tech to be mature enough in the coming 5 years, leading to some bankrupcy. It’ll be enough to turn mainstream social media in Bot-infested hell
Still on the technology side, I don’t expect all these cool start-up about fusion to go somewhere, some would announce major delay (ITER won’t start by then, but we know-it) or pivot
China keep rising in power
Actually, they are, look at how they voted.
You can say that it’ll just make the thing worse, but someone promised them to kick off the “immigrant stealing their job” and cutting the "green policies banning them from driving their gigantic SUV "and they believe it will solve all their problem. Is that a lie ? sure, but at a point people believe plenty of lies
May-be a couple of time as a joke when turning to 2012 with the Maya end of the world coming, and when the coffee machine breaks at work it’s always an end-times level of traged"
Actually, the younger you fuck up, the worse are the consequences. A 13 year old go in a school fight, he is kicked out of school, has to go in another school further away, sleep less, see his grade fall down, and next year he’ll be pushed to start an apprenticeship rather than high school.
A 31 one year old (otherwise a good citizen) does the same. He’ll spend a night in police custody and at worst pays a fine (with a high probability that change are dropped because judges and prosecutor are busy)
Which kind of games. From an Rpg perspective,
Alice is missing a silent Rpg, which is played using instant messenging. That one is absolutely crazy, with a lot of potential for bleed
Blade in the dark, which is basically the latest revolution in Rpg. And led to the FITD games, it kept the yes but partial success from previous generations of PBTA games, use long term actions (aka clock) for everything (same mechanics for opening a lock, seducing the princess or fighting a guard), and has this downtime phase which is more than just spending XP. It also has flashback mechanic letting you jump to the action and plan latter
Mork Borg, the system is fine but banal. However, the weird aesthetic makes it a must have in a rpg lover collection
Do you speak the local language, if not start getting courses now, even if many person are fluent in english, not everyone will want to speak English. (You know the joke about Parisian who don’t know English if you start talking with them in English, but would switch to a perfect English if you have a slight foreign accent when speaking french)
Expect that even basic stuff won’t work the same way as you’re used too. It’s already an issue when moving between two European countries, even basic stuff like what you can legally find on a lease or how to get health coverage will drastically change.
In southern Europe people are pretty touchy/tactile and an America would feel sexually harrassed, Nordic Europe is the other way around with pretty distant people where an American would pass for way too touchy/friendly
Learn to ride a bike, and expect to walk way more than in the US, also remember that even though winter are milder, Europe is way far up north than the US
Has someone tried the whole ad guard solution? Their marketing brochure looks nice, but does it work on mobile +YouTube? Woula pi hole at home be better?
Don’t get in debt for fun. If you like playing, go for TTRPG, with one 50€ book and some imaginatipn you can play a multi year long campaign with 5 persons
Frozen veggie with curry sauce.
Takes les 5-10 minutes to prepare, Is tasty, adding curry is magic bullet to improve taste It’s veggie, so pretty healthy
Main issue is that you have your work e-mail on your pocket, and can see them 24/7
Do you ?
At a point I was travelling a lot to the US, the only time I heard the national anthem was before a Rodeo in Texas, and I never saw someone reciting the "pledge of allegience
How so ?
Ilegal to walk to to Costco sounds so much non sense to me ? like you can’t go shopping without a car ? Legally speaking ? That makes no sense
Family eating at shooters (and the whole hooters/twin peaks concept)
Need to take the car for a 500m trip because there is no sidewalk and a highway to cross
What’s a story game ?
Alice is missing is a Silent, one shot narrative rpg and would my go to recommendation for casual players
Because broken English from research paper and relatively structured style will be even worse than reddit posts
Social media are basically a replacement for the good old neighbourhood bar where kids used to play flippir/arcade after school, adult got their after work beer and so on.
Then places like sport/art clubs, worker union, political parties are great for socialising.
Finally don’t forget that you can socialise with your neighbour, it also contributes to everyone safety
Out of curiosity is it May be later if I meet a nice artist but bla blabla or it’s gross and disgusting?
Are these a normal things in the US or just a movie thing? Because we didn’t have that
Story time? Seems so crazy
in my building, owner use informal tu and first name but when talking with renter they use vous and last name.
To be fair owner see each others at owner’s association meeting and have seen each other in the building for years while many renter move within 2-3 years
And for the fun fact, my owner association ordered a security audit, and the consultant recommended organizing a building/neighbour party/barbecue over installing security camera. As people knowing each other care for each other
