  • Like I hear what you’re saying. I’m on the fuck Israel train as much as everyone but how does them hosting servers in that region support genocide? Are they giving money to the Israeli government? Defending the IDF?

Like there is McDonald’s in Israel does that mean McDonald’s is complicit in genocide? (I actually don’t know if they give money to support Israel but my point is more broad than that and might be a bad example)

Edit: Also for the McD’s example I guess they make money off of Israelis but I still posit that is different to a large degree with being complicit in genocide.

  • The world will be a better place with China as a more dominant world power. People are going to get a taste of what real cheap and well made commodities are like without the looming threat of economic warfare. They are gonna get electrified infrastructure with cheap solar panel tech.

Well everyone except the US. We will continue to rot and suffer as our political class insists that if we only deregulate our industries for a few billionaires to jerk each other off over while actively working to collaborate with and bolster the fascist elements of the owner class.

The future is socialist. The US is hellbent on staying in the past and wants to drag everyone down with them.

  • A multi polar world will surely emerge. The empire will crumble slowly and gradually cede power to other forces.

I think the reality is the US will still be one of the most powerful countries but in a world where they seriously have to operate in diplomacy and not just imperial shows of force will be a net positive for the world overall.

The hope there is other nations that are polar powers and are nominally engaging in anti capitalist behavior will spread that ideology and help lift the the tides of revolutionary fervor to wholesale replace capitalism as the global economic system.

Unless the US does the thing where they decide to violently lash out (as empires do in the past collapses) and nukes the world a few times over. I don’t think this is likely but also it is assuredly not non zero which is insane.

  • This article is funny as hell man. Comparing Zohran meeting Trump to fucking Stalin wheeling and dealing with Hitler is about where I decided the hysterics were a bit too much for me. They make some valid, if emotionally charged, points but largely I think we are getting a little insane talking about a fucking mayor who wants to do some modest reform in NYC. Zohran is significant but he’s one dude with comparatively little power compared to the others we’re apparently putting him next to.

Edit: For the record there have been some historians who claim the time bought with that deal with the Nazis was the time that was necessary for the USSR to bolster it’s military to ultimately be able to squelch the Nazi threat. I’ll let you decide if you think a little temporary uncomfyness was worth the end result.
