There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?

03·2 months agoWhy are you blocking lemmy.ml to begin with? Sure some of their users are annoying as fuck but you’ll find people like that anywhere online.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Why do game devs keep making horrible Linux Ports?English
0·2 months agoYeah I get that and I’m not disagreeing. But why port it at all, that being the case?
I like Debian. I don’t really use it anymore but it’s solid. I only really use Arch these days.
I thought Mint was just Ubuntu without Snaps.
That’s so cool

Linux@lemmy.ml•For Linux gaming (including DX12), is there a strong reason to choose NVIDIA over AMD?
2·2 months agoNevermind, she’s sticking with Linux. Tinkering with it actually fixed most of the major issues.

Linux@lemmy.ml•For Linux gaming (including DX12), is there a strong reason to choose NVIDIA over AMD?
3·2 months agoIf you want to use Linux, please choose AMD. I helped install CachyOS on my sister’s RTX 5080 system and its horrible. 40% performance loss. She’s going back to Windows.Edit: Not entirely accurate
I love snakes! So cute!

KDE@lemmy.kde.social•"This Week in Plasma" brings the news that Plasma 6.5 will have automatic day/night theme switching, that you can choose which Global Themes to show on the Quick Settings page, and that you can set
2·5 months agoKoi has been broken for me lately lol. It rarely switches over automatically.
Music, films, and video games. Probably just art in general. Also having friends but I haven’t had any irl ones in a while.
Edit: I got P.T. running on a hacked PS4 and that made me real happy. Especially because I didn’t know what I was doing.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•We all know grammar Nazis. What incorrect grammar are you completely in defence of?
12·5 months agoI’m of the opinion that so long as it is understandable it does not matter. English was once written as it sounded and there was no spelling consistancy. Those who were literate had little issue with it.

Edit: Okay my rant is more related to spelling than grammar but still interesting.
HDR broke for me

Linux@lemmy.ml•What problems can I expect using Linux (Fedora) with an NVIDIA GPU?
21·6 months agoCertain videos won’t play in any media player. Also occasional graphical glitches in Plasma for me. No issues with games oddly enough.
Edit: I’m using Arch but I’d expect these issues to be distro-agnostic. Though I’m fine with being wrong.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Alright fine I admit it, I want to learn Linux
52·6 months agoI’d say try Kubuntu. It’s like Ubuntu but with KDE (Windows-like user interface) instead of GNOME (shitty Mac clone turned tablet like interface). It’s well-supported and is easy to use. Also supports new technologies like HDR which Mint is lacking. Though you can install KDE on pretty much any distro (Mint included) but it’s a good starting place.
Note to fellow Linux veterans: Yes, I know snaps suck but it is not something new users need concearn themselves with. Kubuntu is a great distro except for snaps which aren’t going to affect OP’s use-case (or most use-cases. Also sorry for shitting on GNOME so much. If you like it that’s cool, I just don’t think we should be recomending it to people coming from Windows.

I don’t. It’s very rare I want to remember something forever.
