I don’t like windows, but I’ve been using various distros on and off for 15 years and it was absolutely never painless. Nvidia drivers still barely work for me (although admittedly they are shit on windows too). Making my computer wake from sleep is the stuff of nightmares. Integrated laptop webcam? No way in hell.
The only thing I give Linux a top score in is compatibility with my audio interface.
Lol the downvotes
Drumpf is Trump’s original family name.

The entire personal life section is pretty insane
Thanks for inspiring me to search around GitHub - I managed to successfully resume from suspend after an hour or so (still doesn’t work in Wayland, but I’m making progress i guess).
Next up is addressing the weird horizontal tearing in all my games!
I am more willing to learn things than the average user I’d say - I work in IT and answer incredibly stupid questions more or less daily. Also, im not a shell expert, but I definitely know my way around bash/zsh/cmd/PS, given the system. I have also been using Linux on and off for around 15 years as well - I had things work well in the past.
I’m guessing my custom built PC might be making things harder. The Nvidia card probably doesn’t help, but I feel like my MOBO is probably responsible for my sleep issues. Maybe I just need to try Pop again, I’m currently running NixOS which is my favourite OS in theory, but in practice configuration is a brute force guessing game.
I wish I could experience this pain free Linux I keep hearing about on this website. Programs constantly stutter and glitch out, and if the computer goes to sleep while running my Linux partition it absolutely will not wake up again. I know this is a skill issue, but I’ve already spent many hours troubleshooting this… I’ve tried several distros as well. Even the steam compatibility everyone raves about only seems to work for me if I don’t use wayland. I can say with certainty that the average person would be completely unwilling to deal with the experience I have had.
Thanks!
Wrong post?
I’m not trans, but having support from managers while going through hard things has absolutely been helpful for me in the past. I’d guess it likely varies from person to person… but overall I don’t think knowing your manager has your back is a bad thing.
Ironically Balatro has proven this is close to what we wanted. Of course if blizz made that game, buying jokers would require a credit card.
Starting to see different people reposting stuff on similar communities, which reminds me a lot of that other site. Not a huge fan.
I’ve also started noticing people downvoting instead of engaging when they disagree with something as well, which is frustrating.
Tea, maybe?
Honestly I will likely continue to support them anyways - despite my grievances against them, they are still doing a better job at preservation than their competitors.
Online play has been broken for a long time for Warcraft 2 on gog. I complained like 2 years ago that they never sent me a code, and they said they were aware of the problem and were working on it. I complained again and they never answered.
I’m all for game preservation, but gog is kind of a shitty company. They can convince me otherwise by having better customer service (or by developing a launcher that actually works).
Interesting, I thought that was Microsoft’s business model
…what is a 4X game?
I don’t think that’s necessarily a safe conclusion to leap to
I feel like I die horribly in my dreams at least one or twice a week. Plane crashes and mass shootings are extremely common. Probably the most horrifying generally has to do with space / infinite falling / falling into a star, however.
I have also had the teeth falling out dreams, and one of the first dreams I remember had a kid I knew pulling out his eyeball and cutting it in half with a butter knife.
These days I generally just hear about my nightmares from my wife as I usually don’t remember them.
