  • It’s made me a 10x developer.

As someone who transitioned form Junior to Dev as we embraced LLMs. Our company saved that much time that we all got a pay rise with a reduction in hours to boot.

Sick of all this anti LLM rhetoric when it’s a tool to aid you. People out here thinking we just ask ChatGPT and copy and paste. Which isn’t the case at all.

It helps you understand topics much quicker, can review code, read documentation, etc.

My boss is the smartest person I’ve ever met in my life and has an insane cv in the dev and open source world. If he is happy to integrate it in our work then I’m fine with it. After all we run a highly successful business with many high profile clients.

Edit: love the downvotes that don’t explain themselves. Like I’m not earning more money for doing less hours and productivity has increased. Feel like many of the haters of LLMs don’t even work in the bloody industry. 😂

  • What is it you don’t understand, perhaps I can guide you.

Do you have any technical knowledge? Like navigating systems or any programming experience?

I only ask those as if yes, then watching a couple of videos about docker-compose should be sufficient. Once you have an understanding of what it does you can rely on the docs more then.

Even asking ChatGPT for an example docker-compose file for what you want would be a great start.

  • For people with iPhone you can do this too.

Go to settings and pull down with your finger to get the search box to appear, then search for “Guided” and click “Guided access”.

Enable this setting as well as toggling “Accessibility shortcut”. Now you can open an app and triple click the lock button and select guided access.

Then on this screen you can press start in the top right or options in the bottom left to refine the controls, for instance:

    • Side button
    • Volume controls
    • Motion
    • Software keyboards
    • Touch
    • Time limits

Now the phone is locked in that app and to come out of it requires the passcode.

  • I don’t keep hobbies long enough to be honest. I’ll have recurring ones, but my hobby is hobbies itself.

ADHD means I’ll think nothing of spending money on something novel and then dropping it as fast as I picked it up.

Coding, Minecraft, Rubik’s cube have been long standing and indoor bouldering is the latest one but the benefits are so amazing it’ll stand the test of time. Mental benefits of rock climbing are off the charts, I’ve never found anything that allows me to truly live in the moment and forget everything for a couple of hours.
