Microsoft controls electron?
453g is about one pound. 2.25lb are about one kilogram.
Where are you shopping? What region do you live in, how urban or rural?
Refresh the page once in reader mode if that happens
I stuck with 7 for an extremely long time under similar reasoning. Like I missed win 8 completely and only got 10 in maybe 2018. And only because I needed a version of directX for work that was unsupported on 7.
And it was the same shit back then. 10 was pulling a lot of the same tricks. Ads, reinstalling candy crush without permission, more bloat and antifeatures.
Eventually a combination of third party tools and understanding of how to keep the garbage at bay made 10 tolerable. And, I guess, now 10 is the semi-reliable legacy alternative to the current shitfest.
Is there a Shutup10 analogue for Windows 11? Or an LTSC? Not looking forward to having to go through that dance again. But I assume the day will come.
There are some aggressively snarky lefties on here. Funny enough I felt that way more when looking at it from a different instance, but I guess internally it’s not as much of a thing because the tone is more relaxed internally, imo. Which is an interesting phenomenon. Maybe has to do with how people talk when they feel they’re in their in-group vs when they feel they have to have their defenses up.
Can you be more specific about the downsides?
I joined this instance because I was looking for a lemmy instance and to be on the fediverse. I mean I can still do that on a different instance, so if that’s the way you decide to go it isn’t the end of the world.
I guess the core group has its motivations that are not necessarily shared by every user, although presumably our ideals are aligned. This is the first I’m hearing that the association with Lemmy is incidental.
Whether I’d stick around or not, I’m not sure. One thing I like about the fediverse is that it presents a real shot at being a free-culture alternative to corporate social media, and I think losing federation with one of the most successful instances would be a loss for that movement.
If you do defederate, would you continue to use Lemmy as the software for the community? Being able to use the mobile apps is convenient and honestly that’s probably the thing that has me logging in as much as I do.
I’m on lemmy. Obviously, I think about Marxism-Leninism.
I am wondering why we are waiting, if it’s an inevitability
So you live in the cradle of Western civilization
You could still make separate identities if you choose. At present you’re still using a single one to interact across the fediverse (unless, of course, you make another one in the same way), so no additional loss of privacy
No, any server instance could support sso as long as they agree on the protocol. If the one you’re using now turned it on tomorrow you’d be able to use it elsewhere.
Got a toast saying "downvotes disabled "
Tech question: I just signed into beehaw with a third party app for the first time. Downvote button is there. I wonder if it works? Is the disabling on the UI layer in the browser (like some subreddits did) or is it deeper?
Gonna try downvoting my own comment here to find out.
Note that Resynthesizer doesn’t replicate a Photoshop feature, it’s the other way around. Resynth came out on 2003. CAF started off as a clone of it.
