I was close to it. I’m an advocate for paying for services I use. We’re way too used to getting everything for free and we should be willing to pay for services we appreciate.

Which made me realise that Facebook especially I don’t appreciate. So I quit instead. It had value to me once but those times are long gone.

Men om även lastbilar och leveranser täcks blir det såklart en annan femma. Finns väl en risk att man dödar några kvarter för att restauranger och dylikt inte vill betala snorhöga hyror för centralt läge och samtidigt betala dyrt för klimatvänliga leveranser?

Tror det blivit så för att det är så svårt att komma fram till en rimlig beskattning av innehav. Om jag äger bitcoin och vid toppen är miljonär men i slutet av året “bara” har 100k kvar vill jag ju inte bli beskattad på pengar jag aldrig såg röken av.

Orealiserad vinst är svår att beskatta imo

Spotify was the same. Turned a profit the first quarter after shifting the focus towards profitability.

I’ve never seen the view of an IPO so heavily affected by bias. Superusers hate Reddit but so what - what matters is whether soccer moms are scrolling and being shown ads. No one cares that the most costly users are unsatisfied. You and me both are nothing to investors.

Is there some objective analysis of this IPO? All I’m seeing is “I’m a superuser who spent a lot of time on Reddit in 2007 and it was far superior back then. The stock will tank.”

Much harder to get distracted with a pen and paper. Main reason I use it.

I think you’re spot on and it applies in general to why we see a trend of subscriptions. When we all got our first smartphones, most apps were local and it didn’t cost the developer more if they had 1M downloads compared to if they had 50 downloads.

I think the main issue is we don’t know where Lemmy is one year from now. I have already started to see a decline in my usage because there simply isn’t enough content. /c/football is virtually dead it feels like and it (or rather /r/soccer) was my number one subreddit.

Nordea rapporterar att deras räntenetto är 40% högre jämfört med samma period förra året. Så helt hemskt verkar det ju inte gå för dem med de högre räntorna.

Nordea släppte sin kvartalsrapport idag och räntenettot (alltså skillnaden i vad de får in i ränteintäkter jämfört med sina ränteutgifter) har ökat med 40% sedan samma period förra året.

Det är väl som med de flesta grejer statliga myndigheter gör. Det passerar för många mellanhänder på vägen. Det är ju som med matbutiker och bensinjättar också. Sänker regeringen momsen med 15% får vi se 8% i prissänkningar och resten hamnar i företagens skattkistor.

ChatGPT is the biggest developer productivity booster I have ever seen and I spend so much more time writing valuable code. Less time spent debugging, less time spent reviewing, etc. means more time for development of things that matter.

Each tech company who just saw massive growth over the past 10-15 years have just received a new toy which will multiply their developer’s outputs. There will be a clear difference between companies who manage to do this will and those who won’t.

It’s irrelevant if I can get ChatGPT to write a poem about poop or not. That’s not the goal of this tool.

Jag vet inte. Min känsla är att NATO-ansökan kom alltför hastigt och var ett panikartat beslut. Beslutet togs baserat på att Ryssland var läskigt för 1,5 år sen. Inte baserat på om vi vill vara med i NATO om 10 eller 20 år.
