Ah I gotcha. That’s an actual tl;dr. Makes sense to me and I agree.
“I’m knittin’ like a fuckin electric nan”

I don’t see why that would make anyone angry, but I also can’t understand what the hell it actually means. “The third grade of clearness of apprehension”? “Might conceivably”?
Is there a tl;dr for that?
Doesn’t matter either way.
Hmm. I think you can’t have those things without an observer. Art, beauty and utility are in the eye (or hand) of the beholder, and apt to appear anywhere.
Pilot names and addresses?
It’s been too long, but seems like I had some problems with formatting getting wrecked between Word and LibreOffice. It probably works a lot better now, not to mention that you can just access Word in the browser if really necessary.
This is a great story, and you should be really proud of yourself! Good job :). I used Linux through college and had very few issues (that I can remember!)
Can you use dd to create multiboot USB drives? Even the link you shared lists Ventoy as an option.
Expropriate their organs.
The fuck they can.
I was in DC on Saturday too, and I also have been going since W Bush’s first inauguration, and several anti war protests after that. I always enjoy seeing people out on the street, but I also feel like these protests don’t really accomplish anything as such. They are just really easy to ignore, unfortunately. Participants feel good about themselves, and hopefully build relationships with new people. But did that crowd on Saturday threaten anyone? Did any elected officials (R or D) feel nervous about it? Were there any demands made that will be met? Again, I do appreciate so many people taking the time to protest, but I hope that plenty of them have a line at which they will take stronger action, and that it doesn’t come too late.
I remapped the power button of my computer to whatever that series of keypresses is that exits vim.
It’s small now, but growing. You can’t scroll infinitely for new content. It’s grown a lot in the time I’ve been here. The smallness can be a positive if you work to have genuine interactions with people. There’s no “karma” and some instances have disabled down votes entirely. You have sometimes subscribe to more than one community of the same topic (each on a different instance).
Subscription search seems at odds with privacy.
I’m surprised by the resistance to Jellyfin in this thread. If you are using Plex, you’re already savvy enough to use bittorrent and probably the *arrs. If you can configure that stuff, Jellyfin is absolutely something you can handle. If you like Docker, there’s good projects out there. If you’re like me and you don’t understand Docker, use Swizzin community edition. If you can install Ubuntu or Debian, and run the Swizzin script, you’re in business.
Check out Yunohost. It’s a self hosting project built on Debian. It lets you install a bunch of server “apps”, including some that will sync contacts for you (Nextcloud, Baikal, My WebDAV).
You can install this on an old computer you have laying around, or on a VPS. Syncing to an Android device you’ll need to use DAVx5. Syncing to iOS is actually easier since it has built-in DAV support.
More like: you’ll have to buy a whole new car.
Obviously you will make up your own mind, but I have had to block shitjustworks entirely, due to the amount of fashposting I’ve seen from there. For comparison, Lemmy.world often annoys the shit out of me, but I haven’t had to block the whole thing. The main thing is how the instance moderates. You can always block users and communities, but those “light-touch moderation” instances will always end up full of the worst people.
I’ve heard something like: 30 is hot, 20 is nice, 10 is cold and 0 is ice.
