  • It’s odd that people here mock voters for “pRiCe oF EgGs” but don’t realize that it was shorthand for the economy being shit for the vast majority of Americans. Obviously Trump isn’t better for the economy, but there were fundamental problems like the high cost of living that people were desperate to get out of and desperate people do desperate things which can be seen as stupid.

Our economy has been an inflatable castle patched with band-aids all over, especially since 2008, but the foundations for this setup was laid down decades before that. Touting higher consumer spending numbers (because people have to pay more for everything), lower unemployment (because people are kicked off unemployment and have to work shitty gig work), or the dumb stock market (which has been pumped with massive money printing) is as dishonest as outright hiding numbers.

  • The responses here reaffirm to me how sweet this setup is for the rich. You’ve got two parties owned by the rich, with one willing to give a few minor concessions to the peasants, and the masses are stuck between them, but you better vote for the somewhat less bad party or else it’s all your fucking fault that everything is bad. Seriously, is the strategy to demand the majority vote for a single party until the end of time? You’ve got to see how that’s impossible under this system. It’s a way to shift the blame off the broken system and to make it an issue of individual responsibility. Reminds me of people who bash the poor as lazy people who just need to “get a job”.

  • Always responding with “republicans are worse” does nothing except to shut down conversation of the complicity of democrats in all of this. It’s like pointing at a homeless person in the US and saying “well it could be worse, they could be homeless in a war-torn country”. It locks down the conversation to the two choice fallacy and blocks any conversation on avenues for that real change you are referencing. These voters are misguided, but it’s telling that democrats are so shit that these people thought a trump administration could offer anything different.

  • It’s funny that you accuse me of being bad at abstract thinking when you couldn’t understand the simple point I was making that just like the US has the capabilities to make things worse, they also have the capabilities to make things better, which biden has not used at all. He has pledged billions of dollars in weapons and permitted any actions that israel takes. Apparently the idea of things actually getting better just does not compute in your mind. This nicely sums up everything wrong with the democratic party and why they’re not actually opposition but rather a tag team partner with republicans. The genocide of the Palestinian people will proceed regardless of which party is in power.

You’re so busy hammering the point that you’d rather eat shit with a kernel of corn in it because at least there is corn in there, but you’re still eating shit.

  • As opposed to democrats backing israel to the hilt right now? You may not believe this, but the bombs dropped during democratic party rule don’t hurt less. What’s really fucked up is you thinking I’m doing any cheering. You should really take some time for self-reflection for thinking that me criticizing democrats for the genocide they’ve been fully supporting for over a year now somehow means that I support trump. Who do we vote for if we don’t want genocide? No, I’m not asking for a supposedly “better” genocide, I mean NO genocide.
