They don’t need your recognition though, I think the $500m yacht says enough.

Oh man on that note talk about Blizzards fall from grace. Just a shell of their former selves.

Refreshing to hear this take. Valve and Gabe get glazed so hard when at the end of the day it’s about the bottom dollar for them too.
Honestly I think people love them so much because everyone else has been horrible by comparison.
Dynamic types aren’t static types my man. I think you got some learning to do.
Theoretically, Javascript is an untyped language, so there aren’t supposed to really be static types. Giving type errors in this situation would be against design.

Sounds like this is closer to Apple’s Rosetta to make up for their ARM transition.
Yeah that is fun, credit where it’s due, compilers do a lot of cool work behind the scenes.
I mean, the comic is fine I guess, but if it implies the Cpp lady is hitting you, it’s not. That would be the kernel, the lady did what you told her to do.

No TouchPad so I’ll pass, but a non Windows version is a step in the right direction.

I’m pretty fucking sure it doesn’t work like that outside of your black and white interpretation.
I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, I’m saying a lot of people find themselves in that (bad) situation either outside their control, or they can be manipulated, coerced, pressured, or hell use your imagination.
To be clear, it’s definitely not always “oh so-and-so was so obsessed with climbing the ladder that they became the bosses bitch, Oooo.” Thats a kindergarden take and, IMO, helps empower people at the top hoarding all the wealth.

I’m gonna assume you don’t know any better. Not saying there aren’t bad or stupid middle managers, but usually the middle manager is the person who got shoved into a “management” position they probably didn’t want, and all they really get to do is take all the heat when decisions they didn’t make blow up in their face. It also usually comes with false promises of raises but upper management never really intends on giving it.
It’s like, top level squeezing the bottom out 101.

And Apple will finally sell the iPhone starting with 256GB

History Channel graduate
Love that

I agree with you, while adding that the lack of depth, especially in space exploration, economy and combat made it that much more disappointing. Like the groundwork is there, you should be able to hire pilots or have you companions run planet bases for you, but no. At least, when I played you couldn’t do that.

This is just like that Epic dude saying Fortnite is the future (lol). People are trying to make definitive statements about what a successful game looks like but there are so many variables to consider. The problem just isn’t as simple as “is it multi-player or not”. Cost matters too, but it’s also clear that more development money doesn’t mean better game. Spider man 2 is a good game, but I’ve gotten a lot of mileage out of Balatro, which was way cheaper to make and to buy.

Yet another example of companies making irresponsible anti consumer choices. You should have to pay the piper if you want to start dancing to this tune. That or you should be forced to open source your proprietary works.
Java when you don’t put in a try catch, vs Template<typename T> in Cpp

I hear what you’re saying, but think about it this way, should I have to log into my dvd player to watch a movie? There wouldn’t be any added experience. What about 10 years down the line when Sony decides to shut off PSN? Will they take the time to remove the requirement or will they do what they’ve done in the past and just drop support?
Forcing people to be online and log into shit is just an unnecessary hassle so that they can keep making money off their paying customers. From what I can tell, this does nothing for us. If we just “get over it” then companies will continue to be exploitive. Expressing frustration, especially as a customer is important.
I mean thats gonna be the joke. If steam machine really does take off, developers will come, just like they’re starting to cater to the deck. It’ll set a standard for what people want to play on and what they need to make sure their game works on. This is beyond anti cheat and DRM but it’ll be interesting to see how the momentum picks up.
I’d bet that Microsoft is already thinking about getting gamepass working on it (for better or worse)
