Healthcare in this country is an abusive relationship. We need to nationalize the hospitals and disband health insurance companies and expand medicaire/medicaid/any single payer system for 100% of Americans.
You want private healthcare? You pay the going rate just like anything else. It’s already a two tiered system. We could at least pay less and have it regulated with oversight.
I’m not naive, this will never happen in the current political landscape until we have fewer healthcare CEOs
Edit: I’m agnostic as to the method we get to single payer tax funded insurance but we all as Americans need to band together on this.
To be honest it’s worse than that. Japan was already moving towards a ceasefire and looking to exit the war when we dropped the bomb. It was posturing, specifically against Russia that we dropped those two bombs.
We dropped those two bombs on Japan to justify the cost of the program and to showcase our new weapon that would project power and create a new US hegemony.
Here’s a great interview about it. https://www.npr.org/2023/08/11/1193189051/looking-back-at-the-decision-to-drop-atomic-bombs-on-hiroshima-and-nagasaki
Mega donors don’t want anti fascist rhetoric because it cuts into the profit margins
Trump isn’t the problem. His rhetoric is. Giving him a a figurehead position just hands him a megaphone to spout more of it.
Um no, laat year progressives were saying the same thing they are today, the Israelis have been bombing Palestine for over a year.
We differ on a salient point I think. You view progressives as radicals.
I don’t think what the progressive wing of the party are asking for is radical. Neither does the article I posted.
I need to get better at reading usernames
Oh, no. I was referencing the Overton window in general. Not voter turnout as a function of conservatism vs liberalism vs progressivism.
Here’s a quick article that will give some jumping off points for further research.

This is my understanding of the problem as well. Moderate dems are selling the party to billionaires
Ah, sorry. I thought you were referring to election reform or presidential messaging. Yes, Dems in Congress have been a slight net positive.
It’s a well regarded theory in political science. It also is present in many other democracies, look at Germany or Sweden for a current example.
Buying power and income disparity are at the same levels they were 80-90 years ago.

American’s support “progressive” policy when it’s not framed as a political question.
https://time.com/6990721/us-politics-polarization-myth/
Lastly you think Americans were less progressive on average 90 years ago?
Low voter turnout is a voter access and apathy issue. Disenfranchised voters tend to not vote and that’s a platform and outreach issue for the DNC. Low voter access is shit that elected dems should put first and foremost in their agenda once elected, but only Abrams and Sanders have talked about election reform since Carter was president.
They didn’t do much to stop it
And what have they done to stop it?
There’s a theory called the Overton Window and Dems moving to the center has shifted this whole country to the right. We lost abortion rights because of it and our election integrity and voter access is at risk because of it.
If you want to look at a winning strategy that directly refutes your point look at FDR.

Proton has a business model where they want the user to put their eggs all in one basket. If you want that kind of userbase you need to leave your personal politics out of it. The problem isn’t that the CEO is right wing. It’s that he is very publicly right wing. Supports a known huckster. And lastly could be vying for a role in the administration. All of this calls into question just for how long Proton will be secure before they are selling user info to the state.
Politics are very fucking important in terms of security for whistleblowers and dissidents. They are the canaries in the coalmine as far as personal liberties go.
