Yeah me too, photos and videos I’ve recorded are the only things I’m bothered about. Backing up off-site all my arrrrr booty is redundant since I’ve shared it to a 2.1 ratio already and hopefully can download it again from people with larger storage than my family member has.

It’s how I handle backing up those photos / videos thou. I bought them a 512GB card and shoved that in a GLi AP they have down there which I sync my DCIM folder to (app was removed from Play Store since it didn’t need updating but Googles stupid policies meant it went RIP…), and I also backup that to the old Synology NAS I handed down to them. I suppose I could use Syncthing but I like that old app since the adage if it’s not broke don’t fix it applies.

Along with them having Tailscale on a Pi4 (on a UPS and is their/my backup TVHeadend server) and their little N100 media box I don’t even bother them with my meager photo collection and works good.

I bought two AXT1800’s for down at a family members house (main router + other on a Powerline in AP mode) and they have no complaints.

While I can’t speak for having to reboot them often since a few months ago I told them to schedule a reboot through the night, weekly, and I find them one of the cleanest router interfaces especially on mobile.

The timezone is different to your browser is my main qualm with them which I can’t seem to solve :/

Aye, I’ve given my old NAS enclosure to a family member and they’ve never been so happy having the arrrr stack running on it and I think it’s like magic to them still.

However one step at a time and I’ll get them off Google Photos (I’ve plonked Immich and Jellyfin on their bedroom n100 box) and Drive if it kills me. Screw this bullshit of paying to store our data only for them to double down and invade their privacy.

And you know what irks me more is when you buy things from places like eBay or other third party seller websites (where you’ve consented to their cookies/terms) your email address you use with them is then in the hands of a goofball who’s had their personal business PC been compromised.

The few times I use eBay the email addy I use on their sees my inbox flooded. Fucking shitshow.

I’m aware of that, but I’m just pointing out many websites do not give you the consent options as stated above which imo are much more annoying.

I generally just use my ceramic bladed hair cutter on 0 when I’m not required to have a clean, clean shave, and then like I say above just use a BIC when I need a baby’s bum face for work etc.

The twin / triple blades I find can be off-putting to some since if you have too much growth they latch on and snag.

Yeah, we’ve got something I recall being called the P-laws or something brought in, meaning all new sockets need to be a certain height above floor level.

I’ve seen many rented houses here that still have them on the floor since older builds ain’t required to rectify them. Scary if you see all the recent flooding we’ve been having in some parts of the country :/

But those three pin / fused BS 1363 whilst been one of the safest sockets you can get, I can confirm they’re an absolute bastard if you stand on one.

Alright. Ima be ur daddy and tell you have to shave in 3 minutes flat.

• Acquire some BIC single blade razors

• Head to shower, put it on steaming hot and apply steaming hot water to face. Getting a hot towel after getting out of the shower and leaving it on your face for a while makes a tough shave even moar comfortable.

• Lather shaving foam all over face

• Run BIC razor under cold running water and shave until your face is like a baby’s bum

• Rinse thoroughly with cold water to remove all lather

As a Britbong, I’m always proud of not only BS1363 and the safety it has brung us over the years but the fact that I know that number off the top of my head.

I usually have a goldfish memory for things like that.

I wonder if what you could do is look into a Stingray device and plonk that in your car to make it to connect to that instead of local cell towers?

I’ve always wondered about buying one years ago but they seem like a rarity here these days. Also, manipulating that data / telemetry to show you in Antarctica has got to be on someone’s fun list?

I recall worrying about MAC address tracking one time and using Chainfire’s MAC privacy app, but that’s a non factor now since they’re randomised by default on Android on the most recent versions.

You know, I’d 99% of the time agree with you but has anyone else tried out the little (travel?) routers from GL-iNet?

Their default router interface ain’t half bad at all, and if you do need to use Luci you can simply do that too

I bought a couple of them for a family member and they haven’t poked me once for help with them.
