Could you share the recipe?
Could you share the recipe?
He himself has said he could run as Vance’s VP, and then Vance could resign. He said it like it was a clever hack he’d figured out. But the text of the amendment specifically forbids it. You can’t be VP if you aren’t eligible to be President, and if you’ve been elected twice, you aren’t eligible to be President.
I suppose he could say he hasn’t been elected twice because Elon hacked the voting machines in swing states in 2024, but at that point why bother?
On top of the continual shift of taxation towards the middle and lower classes we’ve had since Reagan.
The “good old days”the Republicans want to go back to were only good in the sense that the top tax rate was 90% and the rich paid something much closer to their fair share, and the middle class was able to actually have comfortable lives. But they want everyone other than them to be on the brink of economic ruin at all times so that they are more easily controlled.
Don’t keep voting to approve his nominees, for one. Put a hold on each and every one of them. Vote against all of the laws the republicans are putting through congress. Filibuster everything. Basically, act like the republicans have since 1992.
They could start with that.
Protesting can work, boycotts can work, and so on. Don’t let anyone think we can’t act because we the people can
Yes! If they didn’t work, we wouldn’t have such coordinated negative messaging about how they DON’T work and are a waste of time. If conservatives didn’t think boycotts and protests were effective they wouldn’t be working so hard to make them illegal.
Why do organizations continue to pretend anything Trump says is true? This bet was always only that these tariffs would benefit him personally by crashing the economy so that he could seize more power, and so far the first part is going swimmingly. Everybody knows that. AP certainly knows that. Why pretend otherwise?
The only thing I can figure is that a lot of news organizations think if they suck up to Trump now, then when he consolidates power he’ll kill them last. Which, in contrast, seems like a terrible bet.
No worries. Still interesting!
A system of checks and money orders. And cash.
I’m pretty sure the demographic that talks about “my bitch ex-wife” is mostly in the tank for Trump already.
On the off chance you aren’t joking, no, it’s innocent until proven guilty.
Yeah, I think you’re right.
Ok. Have a nice day.
I have no idea what you are trying to say. Batteries have an environmental impact, but so does fracking for natural gas. You have the impact up front making a battery, but charging it with renewables does not have continued environmental impact. But if you use gas, you’re going to have to use an awful lot of it over that time period to offset the clean power you’re able to use when you have a battery. And that gas has a very high environmental impact, continually, over that entire time period.
I didn’t say batteries have NO impact, but they have less impact than continually mining and burning fossil fuels.
You make the batteries once, and the pollution due to production is spread over the 10-15 year lifetime of the battery. During that time gigawatt hours of clean power sloshes in and out of them. This in contrast to having to produce enough gas to make all of those gigawatt hours once, then throw the gas away as co2 and get more, along with the attendant pollution.
Trump has repeatedly demonstrated that he can and will do whatever the fuck he wants, consequences be damned.
There are never any consequences. Until there are, his whole circus will continue and get worse.
She has political standing because the right wing media finds her constant insane shrieking useful, so they continue to platform her. It draws attention away from things they don’t want you talking about, like income inequality, looming fascism, environmental distraction… basically everything they are working so hard to achieve.
Any mental effort they can get people to waste responding to her is effort not being put towards making the world a better place for someone other than billionaires.
I agree that there are much more reasonable existential reasons to lean on but like… if “Climate change will cause NVidia to drop 900%” gets finance bros on board with a solution then fucking well done.
This is probably the right take, although I’m sure some segment of the population will hear “So you’re saying keep going the way we’re going but short NVidia?”
Oh no, absolutely they shouldn’t go! That would be so terrible for all of us progressives. Once they leave and take all their useful skills with them we absolutely will fail as a country and will cry tears of shame that we ever questioned them. That would show us so hard. We would be so owned!
Rich people know that laws don’t apply to them. Log Cabin Republicans probably figure that Republican policies will benefit them financially, and their wealth will insulate them from any practical inconvenience from the anti-LGBT policies. Sure, it will make life unbearable for millions of people, but those people aren’t them, so who cares? I don’t think it’s any more complicated than that.
Thank you!
