If you are over the age of retirement, you should not be allowed to run for elected offices. Stop electing dinosaurs. It doesn’t matter what side of the political spectrum you fall on, forced retirement of all qualified members of Congress needs to happen.
It could also be conveniently solved by implementing term limits. Most of these dinosaurs have been politicians longer than they’ve done any real job.

I think the best counter would be to get money out of politics. These groups and massively wealthy individuals only have power because many politicians will do anything to get that money.
Stop letting them buy influence. Make it hard to find a loophole. And actually punish people for violating campaign finance laws.
