I agree, it should be global by default and changeable per account

don’t upload with streamable, barely works on any client
seems like a fire hazard no?
if you host that instance on your own ip, yeah.
yep I’m having the same issue, it’s like the comment tree got interveted
using a free VoIP number isn’t an option cause the moment you remove it discord with boot you off again, and keeping it is a huge security risk.
if you’re a new discord account it’s (in my experience) not possible to go without a verified phone number, their system is too sensitive
I’ve gotten this video from here
I don’t get it tho, if a in your eyes good person wrote Lemmy what differences does it make? are the current devs pushing their agenda in the code or whatever? it’s literally all open source
Hey @lesserprophet@lemmy.world , please make sure the video you post is embed-able on the official Lemmy site. Youtube links dont embed as a video but as a link.
hey @BombOmOm@lemmy.world , twitter links don’t embed on Lemmy (yet). You can download the video with Youtube-DLP or whatever and upload it to a service like https://catbox.moe/ 👍🏻
what’s wrong with AA batteries tho? easily swappable, hot spares, rechargable, interchangable with other devices
you are the goat. thanks for making these banger extensions for youtube
the thing with chromium being everywhere is with the illusion of choice. there’s like 10 major browsers, as a end-user who doesn’t really know any better they might all seem different but in reality theyrall based on chromium, with Firefox being the exception
afaik, because of the current lack of good moderation tools it would be hard to keep the community to their standard with the huge amount of new lemmiers
afaik, they defederated from us. So we can still see posts and comments from there, but cant add any posts or comment.
if you go to the communities tab, and then select all instead of local, itll search for every community that the instance is federated with.
the hell is “digital euro” and how is it any different from the euro in my bank account
IPFS is imo the best way to go, anyone can help store parts of the footage. It’s pretty easy to understand if you’ve ever used torrents. https://github.com/ipfs/ipfs-desktop
Once lemmy adds a proper video player/embed support ill create a comprehensive guide for the community on how to upload. Debating on whether to ban all other ‘non-permenant’ media (imgur, etc)
encrypted Rsync to a free Backblaze account. be sure to test your backups tho
what I’m trying to say is it doesn’t embed, it’ll show up as a link. unlike a raw upload which can be played in most apps like infinity and voyager
