Which can be true depending on how far you stretch it. I’d say that if a chunk of the user base is having a problem, it’s a design problem
It might be easier to make a few images with some anti-AI patterns, and then give them randomly generated file names and paths. If needed, you could do some subtle transformations each time but generating a new image each time might be more effort than its worth

It’s immediately clear what it’s referring to, and it leaves it open to other compatible platforms once they implement activity pub nicely. Being able to subscribe and post to official support forums from the forumverse would be a cool promo point
Also people refer to many things as “threads”. Conversations, comment sections, discord has threads. Forum is much more clear

Manually downloading HTML posts would be more difficult, but it might be possible by parsing the data export you can download from Facebook
I’ve heard Kobo is better than the other big players when it comes to interoperability with open formats / self hosted setups.

With that in mind, I LOVE how lean and fast some FOSS apps/projects are. One of my motivations to go searching for FOSS alternatives is when something seems slow for no reason.
It’s not always the case, but it’s often the case
DDG and Brave were pushed as “censorship free” alternatives, back when I was looking into covid disinformation, because the very obviously fake websites would sometimes rank higher on them

You might be better off looking for a community where the moderation optimizes for that kind of discussion (ex. Removing low effort comments, requiring citations, academic oriented, etc). It’s harder to find an entire instance that matches those points, but there should be a few communities like that
