Normal? No idea, probably not. But I can confirm it works well enough.

It does not, in any category besides “messages” it just makes the icon go away (but it comes back after the above mentioned events), when in “messages” it just expands the collapsed conversation thread to show each message as its own thread (all of which are read).

I don’t think that you can make a “photo” post with multiple pictures like you can on reddit, but as the other person showed, you can just embed multiple images into a text post for effectively the same thing. I actually like this better because you can have text and images

As the other commenter said, it never works the intended way for me. I want to say that it used to work and an update broke it but I can’t be 100% sure.

Can you make your own sub on the desktop then use that to use the app?

(I don’t plan on going through all this effort to browse Reddit lol just curious if it works or if they thought of that.)

Maybe it depends on what view mode you’re in? After seeing your response, I refreshed my home page, up voted the first unread posts, refreshed again and they’re all marked read. I’m using the small cards with the buttons underneath the title.

Voting on a post does mark it as read after you refresh.

I made a post a while ago wishing it was the opposite, haha. On Reddit I would upvote newer text posts with few comments that I think have good potential for discussion, then when I scrolled past them on my feed again I’d take a look. I tried that here but all the posts were getting marked as read so they didn’t stand out.

Someone else pointed out to me that if you long press on the link (not the comment itself) that it will open up the exact menu that I am talking about. It’s a little annoying, personally I wish that this was the default behavior, but it beats opening the YouTube app every 5 seconds.

Ha! So it is. I’d tried this before, but I think I was not long-tapping directly on the link because I was just collapsing the comment.

It would be nice if there was an option to change the default behavior, as I’m too stupid to remember to long press every link I see. But that’s being a bit nitpicky.

Same here. Any text post with a really high quality image in the post body or in the comments seems to kill the app.
