At least in Russia you have to be Russian or a closely affiliated state to attain that level of influence
Why did they do that?
Everybody needs at least two. One for regular interaction, and another for porn. I mean for science.
I wish there was a simple “X” button to hide posts, like RIF had. I know you can do it via Lemmy, but it doesn’t seem to work in Liftoff until hours later. Maybe I’m doing it wrong because I’m new, but I’ve even gone to the browser side and I’m still seeing the same stuff 5 hours later.
Overall, a very smooth experience. If Jerboa and Liftoff combined into one app, I think we’d have it all.
Tom was my first Internet friend. I’m glad he’s doing well
I downvoted that post that was an advertisement for crypto
Some variant of what’s it?
Wouldn’t the correction be sufficient? Other users could read it and decide to downvote
I like this idea. Make the karma irrelevant so we don’t get those awful bots or the tit-for-tat arguments
I switched to Liftoff. I was on Jerboa for the last few weeks as I figured things out, but liftoff is much smoother and has yet to give me an error code
You rang?
Let’s keep it going
Thank Vishnu
And my… Comment!
I went Lemmy.ml because it doesn’t require an email address. I had 10’s of Reddit accounts that I’d cycle through on different VPNs and only use certain ones on certain devices in the name of Internet anonymity. Giving up an email address (even one that’s purely for junk mail) defeats the anonymity.
Lemmy being open source and relatively transparent means any bad actor with access would have a ton of info on me, even if it’s just my habits, voting tendencies, and comments/posts. That’s not info I want to give out.
OP stated Meta/Threads users would still be able to see posts, but they wouldn’t be able to interact. If M/T were an unbiased player, they could easily allow Lemmy users to interact on Threads with their Lemmy accounts (not giving any of your personal info over to Meta), but we all know that won’t happen.
I can’t see a positive reason to invite the weasel into the chicken coop

Maybe the Ask history mods don’t understand how to use it yet? This platform does take a bit of learning, but every update seems like it increases the end user experience
Huh…TIL! I thought he was SA
