“It’s not a tech issue. It’s a political issue.”
It kinda is a tech issue if the output is skewed because nefarious parties are feeding the model shit.
If they control the tech and what’s being fed into it then it makes the process rife for manipulation.
Of late, my biggest concern is certain parties feeding LLMs with a different version of history.
Search has become so shit of late that LLMs are often the better path to answering a question. But as everyone knows they are only as good as what they’ve been trained on.
Do we, as a society, move past basic search to a preference for AI to answer our questions? If we do, how do we ensure that the history they feed the models is accurate?

I do suffer from depression. Two things that made a big difference for me in terms of sleeping through the night were regular exercise and wearing earplugs. YMMV
Thanks for the reply, and good to know!
I think I’ll blow away the windows install on this machine completely.
I still have another pc for some audio tools that don’t run under Linux, but this machine is my daily driver now and I couldn’t be happier.
So, excusing my ignorance as a fairly recent Linux convert, what does this mean for my dual boot system?
I haven’t booted windows for weeks and am pretty sure there have been no updates since it was freshly reinstalled (maybe 6 months ago) as a dual boot with Debian.
Is this only a problem if I allow Windows to update?
Are Microsoft likely to fix the issue in a subsequent release?
With those other rules in place no self-respecting Penguin would set foot in that place anyway
And all the wasted time getting from one job to the next. Even if the travel is all virtual you still have to get setup/organised, put one thing down and pick another up.

I get the bitter taste in the mouth, but when the alternative is Windows??? I made my choice and bought an iMac recently so that I could finally ditch the last windows pc in the house (everything else is Linux). And then had my work PC updated to Win11 last week. Uggghhh …
